No, the factory LR 18" wheels off the LR3 will not clear the front Brembo calipers of the 2006-2009 Sport Supercharged, unfortunately. The Compomotive PD1880s - I think they have a new model # PD1881 as of early this year - will fit however (you may need to flip around the anti-resonate weights found on the Brembos to get them to fit.) I doubt even the 18" Compos would clear the larger brakes of the MY2010-13 5.0L Supercharged though - although I am not 100% sure if anyone has tried that combination yet.

As far as tire size, I ran 285/60R18 A/Ts on my non-lifted 2006 Sport HSE for years, with very negligible rubbing only experienced under full compression or steering lock, which would kinda disappear on its own as the tires wore off slightly after a few thousand miles. That's as large as you can safely go without and modifications / lifts. A matching spare of that size will fit under the car, but only if partially deflated - and you may need to get rid of the heat shield between exhaust and spare tire to winch it up without issues. It will be a tight fit.

Here are the Compos mounted on a pre-2010 Supercharged with 265/65R18 BFGs (they will also fit without mods and with only minor rubbing, but you will have to store the spare elsewhere, no way to squeeze it under the car):

Do you think 18" wheels of an 0'3 D2 would work on an 06 RRS HSE?

IIRC the wheel hub of LR3/4 and RRS is larger than the one on older Discos (even though the bolt pattern is the same), so that probably wouldn't work.

Chris, great looking RRS. They are a pleasure to drive, and every bit as capable as the LR3, with a near optimal wheelbase as well. I have spent many, many miles behind the wheel of one and like it almost as much as old my LR3 :)

You are correct that the RAI is not waterproof. sealing off the interior of the housing and ensuring the one way purge valve in the filter box is operating okay is a good start, but we found water still got in, and resorted to old fashioned duct tape for deeper fun:

voodoojk, are you the same voodoojk from Jeepforum.com that has the nice built red JK? I followed some of your build threads over there and remembered the name.
Have you switched to the dark side? :)

Ha.. We'll no that is not me. I been voodoojk on all the jk forums except that one since 2007. I did have a jk. And have since sold it and switched to the dark side.. Of Toyota! But... I work for land rover so I got them all covered lol

Chris - here is a photo of the awning, I believe we have the same one from equipt. Made a huge difference in the hot sun for an enjoyable breakfast with friends this weekend.

Man those are great looking wheels. You're making me wonder how they would look on my truck haha

They really are fantastic and the more I drive it, the more I love it! I used a lot of silicon around the edges of the intake so I know the exterior is pretty well protected. The interior piping under the hood and behind the fender wall are another story though. I love the duct tape! That's a true adventure fix for sure.

I love it! Looks great on your truck. Yes I believe its the same awning that I have from equipt. They make a world of difference when you're out during the day. Its amazing how much better some shade can make things. Glad to see you're enjoying yours!

Well guys I apologize for being so distant on this thread! As I'm sure many of you are aware Expedition Portal just received a massive facelift for the front page and is still going through the process of reformatting for old articles. i was spearheading this project so unfortunately I had little time for the forum or even sleep lately! Thankfully I will be able to breathe a little easier now with the site up. Hope everyone will enjoy it!

Looking great Chris. You are really going to want some Rover Specialties rock sliders under there, or perhaps some clones from Tactical Rovers in LA.

I'm looking into sliders right now actually but they are quite expensive haha. That being said so is a crushed door sill. I didn't know that tactical made sliders for the sport

They don't, but they can. The only real difference is the wheelbase and the curve of the outer tube. Everything else for a Stage 2 slider from RoverSpecialties is the same between the Sport and the LR3. Since Tactical Rovers makes a similar (cloned) product to RoverSpecialies, with the added bonus of actually producing an inventory, I think they would be your best bet for fully functional rock sliders. The Urban Off Road sill protectors would not fit the Sport without extensive modification.

Here is what the RoverSpecialites sliders look like:

:Wow1: That last photo is painful! Those are some serious sliders. It's interesting and cool that they're like a combination slider and bash plate.

I'll ask a silly question as I continue to look for them and can't seem to find them. Where do you get the Rover Specialties sliders?

The only thing I see with the Urban Offroad is that they do not connect to anything other than the door sill. Not sure if this is stronger or weaker? Anyone with any experience?
