Suspension, Bumper, and Winch all installed!

So, it took me all day but I just finished installing the OME suspension. I did the bumper and winch yesterday.

I might get a couple small projects done tomorrow, but I have to go back to post. I won't be able to work on it again for about three weeks. Overall, very happy with what I got done in the last couple days.

New grill, new lenses for all the lights, tuffy center console plus lots of other little parts are coming in the mail sometime next week.

Did you get the regular OME springs with 2 inches lift, or the dakar OME springs with 1.5 inches of lift?

BTW, welcome back from the sand box. If you get up to Creech AFB for training look me up at the fire station.

I got the Dakar springs. I had thought the only difference was the dakar's were made in a different factory... I installed the "heavy" springs but the medium shocks. I was a little concerned I'd end up with the stink bug look, but that didn't happen at all. I am picking up another t-case today so I can get started on the gears here in NC. When I get back to SC next time I'll just have to swap cases.

SRN, you have a roof rack right? I was looking for that thread the other day but couldn't find it. Now that I have another person coming on the trip I think I'm going to build one.

Thanks, that thing is slick! I really think I am going to have to build one, but it probably won't come out that nice. I haven't welded in 6 years or so...

Yeah, it's been great for longer trips. Very pleased with how it turned out.

Thanks unionmine. Not a whole lot done lately, although I did just finish printing out and binding (all 488 pages) the FSM and parts catalog for the Samurai. I also picked up a second transfer case and will be swapping the gears in it tomorrow. Other than lots of trip research not a whole lot new to report.
