tex68w, Saw this thing on ebay, looks sweet, glad you got it.

Yea we worked out a deal outside of eBay then made an offer we agreed upon through the auction. I've put quite a bit into it in the last few weeks and it's really taking shape. It's up to momma now whether or not it sticks around or gets sold off for a 100 or 200 series.

New to me 1993

1. 1993 FZJ 80, maroon (not sure what Toyota calls it?)

3. First LC, had it a little over a month ago
4. 213k when I bought it, 215k now.
5. The truck came with a small lift and 33 inch duratracs which I swapped out for cooper AT3's, basically stock other than that.
6. Truck is my DD, and used for weekend adventures. I bought it about two weeks before a planned Moab trip, knocked out a bunch of maintenance and minor repairs and hit the road! I think Moab was the first time this thing has ever seen the dirt. The previous owner also posted up somewhere in this thread.

My First Land Cruiser

3. How long have you owned your 80 series?
I've had it a couple weeks. This is my first LC, and I'm stepping up from a 1993 4Runner

4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage:
It's got around 215,000 and I haven't driven it since I made the deal. It's been at a shop having some work done while I was out of town.

5. Your favorite mods... If any:
Only real mod so far is the OME 2.5" lift (Shocks, Heavy Springs, Castor Kit, Steering Damper)

6. How your 80 is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.:
Initially, this will replace my 4Runner as my daily driver, but I'm hoping to make a hobby out of expedition camping.

No build thread yet, but it's coming. Here's my roughly chronological list

- Remove the awful window tint

- New tires. I've pretty much decided on 285/75R16s, and I'm down to Grabber AT2s or Duratracs. Leaning toward Duratracs. I'm also intrigued by 255/85R16s, but there's just not a good selection in that size and I'm afraid it's just a teeny bit too narrow for this bloated beast.

- New stereo. I hate car audio, but the previous owner took the head unit with him so my hand is kinda being forced here. I'm leaning toward the Blaupunkt New Jersey 220 BT, then some new Pioneer door speakers, and probably the 8" stock location sub mod.

- Front bumper. Thinking TJM 17 or maybe the Metaltech tube.

- Probably recover the seats. The previous owner recovered them in camo and it's faded, smells bad, and isn't my style. Something simple and OEM looking. I'm also probably going to hang onto the jumpseats. They're still grey but I may recover those too while I'm at it. We'll see what the price ends up being.

- Winch

- Deflare and fill holes. Maybe also paint. I love the white, but I'm thinking maybe 6H9. So old school. So hipster

- Snorkel, cuz why not? It's just money. You can't take it with you.

- Rear bumper. Something with a tire carrier. Probably the ARB.

- Diffs and (maybe) Gears. OMG do I wish Eaton made a Truetrac for the rear. If they did, Front/Rear Truetracs would be much higher on my list. I doubt I'd go to 4.88, but maybe 4.56 if it makes sense to do it while they're open anyway.

- What have I missed?

5. The only mod is a snorkel, and I guess my roof rack counts too! I do love my 265/75R16 BFG Ko2's!

3. I had this LX450 for 5 Years and had a 1993 LC since 1999 and also a 1995 LC for a brief period before buying the LX450
4. bought in 2011 and now has 169,xxx
5. ARB Bumper and OME 2.5" Suspension Lift, Quad Headlight system
6. used for Adventure and Overland Travel, driven up to Pikes Peak Colorado, 12,000 Ft

Soon this 96 LX450 will be Replaced with this 1991 HDJ81 RHD Part Time 4WD, 5 speed with Diff Locks...

Land Cruiser 80 Turbo Diesel

So, finally I present my LC80.

1993 HDJ80 4.2L 12v Turbo Diesel. It has/had several colours, ranging from the red bordeaux original to current white(ish)... :sombrero:

I own it for 1.5 year. Bought it from a friend who has another and used to loan us both cars for moroccan trips.

4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage:
Over 400.000km (although I guess it has many more :ylsmoke: )

5. Your favorite mods... If any:
Living its last decade (and more) as press vehicle in events like Dakar rally, Africa Eco Race, it's not in pristine condition! Nowadays it runs on a double suspension setup, 4 bucket seats, internal full rollcage, 2 fuel tanks...

6. How your 80 is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.:
It has been used on expeditions to Morocco and offroading in Portugal and that will be it's future role...

Name: LS80
It's my first 80 but not my first cruiser
Got it with 250k on the clock and swapped the motor and now has 255K
Favorite mod by far is the LS swap with the Icon stage 1 a close second
It's a part time driver and full time overlander/ranch cruiser.

Hello everyone! I have been on this site for a long time but now I am finally taking the time to post about our build, trip, etc. I will be adding more info about our rig in the following weeks.

4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage: 215K when purchased, had the top end rebuilt at 220K and now total she has about 235K.

5. Your favorite mods... If any: External locks, steel locking box replacing back seat, steel security window grates, OME lift, Nitto AT tires...the list goes on.

6. How your 80 is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.: We bought it for a trip through Central and South America.

1 Year of ownership and my first automatic 80 series, my third land cruiser (before I had a 4.5 F70 and a 2.7 RZJ90 )

146.000Kms when bought and about 156.000kms now... like 98.000 miles

5. Your favorite mods... If any:
Favorite Mod: 4300k hid with depo clear headlamps and hella 4000 euros.... others may be the INTI bumpers

I use it as second vehicle, and mostly travel
