I would have put the cam cans on the drivers side for visibility reasons. I'm not sure if they plan to hang anything on the other side or not.

I was looking forward to the build but then I actually watched it and was rather disappointed. It was a rock crawler that they added some expo stuff to. A snorkel for water fording? Last time I checked they were initially for dusty/dirty roads and getting your intake above the dust. I was also disappointed in them putting the fridge in the bed of the truck. Not very well thought out if you ask me. What happens when dirt, rain or snow gets into the compressor vents but then again that's just my opinion. I was good to see them al least addressing the expo community but you can tell that they are Jeep rock crawling people.

I agree with the sentiment of the fridge. They could've just gotten a smaller fridge and stuck it behind the front seats, it being an access cab and all.

I wish I had seen that program. I've had my fridge in the bed for 4 years now, all year long.

Not all trails are gravel... I like knowing if I get into trouble I'm more likely to be capable enough to get out of it.

I've done 10s of thousands of miles across North America and Canada... there is no one best overlanding vehicle, except your own.

I instantly thought of this truck! I see it around town sometimes.....the driver sits so high I think he sees over all the other trucks on the road, so he never waves back.....

It really is quite shameful...some guys builds a truck the way he envisions it to be without first checking with the experts...or clearing it with certain forums...or not following the proscribed build everyone else follows. Doesn't he know if he builds a truck different than either me and you would that he's doing it wrong and bringing shame to the almighty overland gods. For shame Ian, for shame.

I agree with this completely. It's what makes overlanding so fascinating... to me anyway. No two rigs are exactly the same. We tailor them them to custom fit ourselves, our interests, and the destinations at hand.

There was a thread a while back about how expedition/overland vehicles are moving towards this idea of a rock crawler/long range travel hybrid. Personally, I'm open to it. Can't assume everyone runs 235s with IFS. Like TangoBlue said, "Not all roads are gravel." :sombrero:

Oh, side note, I hope I didn't sound as if I was saying sticking the fridge in the back of the cab was the only viable solution. I really don't have much knowledge on the subject, so I'm in no position to say what the fridge can't handle in the environment. I was merely speaking personally in the aesthetic and ergonomic sense.
