Falken Wildpeak AT/3W - anyone running them? Opinions?

100% agree. My favorite tire I've ever had on the truck. They are at least good at all conditions, which is rare for a tire to be able to do. It's not the best mud tire, not the best snow tire, not the best rain tire, but damn it if isn't at least competent at it all. They also seem to be lasting really well. I have 25,000 miles on them with a 8000lb suburban and they still look close to new. Pretty amazing.

I have heard they have gone up in price over the last few years, but even if they are the same as k02's, etc. it's a no brainer still.

I just made the change from BFG KO2 235/85/16 E to the Falken Wildpeak AT3 265/75/16 SL

So far I am very happy, wet traction starting out seems bettering the ride and road noise are greatly improved as well. Look forward to testing these tires out.

Has anyone also owned the Copper ST Maxx? how do you think these stack up to the Cooper?
yup. I can not think of a single instance where the ST Maxx was superior to the AT3w, other than looks. I have had ST Maxx in 295/70-17, 285/75-17(multiple sets) and 315/70-17(multiple sets). My real only beef with the ST Maxx is they all got loud after 10,000 or so miles and the 315/70-17 runs a little short height wise. good tires tho all and all.

Was looking at the Wildpeak AT3 but when I was out yesterday exploring some campsites ran into a guy with a flat WP AT3. It's the second time. The shale on the FSR is tearing the tires up so he's going back to TOYO Open Country AT III. Said he needs durability more than snow traction.

Looking at tire weights for my truck (275/65R20)
TOYO = 55lbs
Wildpeak = 34.1lbs ...EDIT......this number is a brain fart. The weight is 66lbs
KO2s I have = 58.2lbs

Wildpeak cost more than KO2 here

That’s a lot of weight difference. Probably P rated Falkens and the others are E rated

I bought a set 3k miles ago. 265/75/16. I didn't get much time in the snow with them this season. We'll see how they do next winter. So far, seems like a decent tire.

34.1 is the tire diameter. 66.1 lbs is the weight for LT275/65/20 per Falken.

having had both At3w and Toyo at3 (and at2's and RT's) if he has flatted with the falkens he will flat with the toyos too. Some people just get flats and some don't.

He might have been running the TOTO Open Country C/T before. After reading some reviews on the C/T I can understand why he switched to the Falkens.

Thai labor must be going up. The price of Falkens has sure gone up. I wish they'd make an HD version with another ply.

40k on my WildPeak A/T3W, 265/60R18 XL (my LR3 weighs ~6300lb)
Barely any wear, 5 tire rotation every 5k

Love them - Driven on highway, sand, dirt, rocks, gravel, snow, towing - just no mud experience where I live
Would definitely buy again
