This is a great time of year to take wildlife photos. Anybody have some worth sharing?

Here are some Rocky Mountain elk pics...

Long Tailed Weasel

Taken in Fall, 2010 - Calgary, Alberta.
Posed for 3 shots... only got one decent one. Man, I wish I had a bigger lens! Very timid.

Not really any critters here in Southern Az that are seasonal but here are a couple we saw on our run this past weekend.

Great Horned Owl

Have yet to see a heard of elk like those in FJR Colorado's pics... awesome. The talons on the owl are impressive! Wow!
As for the tortoise... that is an Undercarriage Inspectortoise seen in it's natural environment showing behavioural traits. Looks like it wants a closer look at the front right wheel area. If you look even closer, it appears the Xterra is watching the tortoise. :)

Here are a few bear cub shots from last week in the Smokies. The first shot is intentionally softened a bit to make it look more 'cuddly'. ;-)

Great shots Brad. It looks like the deer and javelina were in Aravaipa Canyon, is that where you saw the bobcat also?

Thanks Tim,

Yep the last 3 were all from Aravaipa canyon. With all the water in there it's a critter haven.

There was a pack of Coatimundi in there I saw on the way in and I kept going back attempting to get a shot of them. They were too elusive and I was never able to catch them out in the open. Maybe next time.

Coati are a hard one to photograph. I managed to get into a troop of them in the Chiracahua's and got some close up shots a couple of years ago. It was a pretty cool expereince. I was a little nervous too, I have heard some stories about troops ganging up on people.
