Father and Son's Off Road Expedition Trailer build

Sorry for the late reply. I'm getting killed at work and just haven't had time to respond. I think somewhere in here I talk about the process I used but if I didn't I used Valspar Duramax for the final exterior coats. Probably 5 coats or so. It's kinda a rubbery or flexible type paint that isn't supposed to crack and supposedly holds up well to the elements.

I haven't been able to take out the trailer for a month now due to work. But I guarantee once I get a few days off I'll have it hooked up and heading for the mountains.

Sorry, I have one more question. Did you spray or roll your paint?

This summer has been absolutely crazy at work. I think I had a total of about 8 days off this summer between June and Aug 15th. I've been off for the past week for the Elk hunt so I'm hoping things are getting back to normal. Got some great nights in the trailer also. Fortunate for me my oldest son loves taking this trailer out as much as I do so it went on a lot of trips without me this summer while I was working. We have used this trailer so much and I like it more each time I go out. It's such a perfect trailer for us. I'll post up a few pics. Just came back from up on Beaver Mountain where we were Archery Elk Hunting.

Here's a few pics my Son Sent me of some of his excursions. He loves Mountain biking so his bike goes with him most of the time and he also loves to bring our Labradoodle Sawyer also.

When my son and I get some time we need to make a few additions to the trailer. I'd like to make a step to be into the door. It's pretty tall getting in that side door. Also need to figure out a way to mount the spare tire on the side of the trailer.

We have had one issue with it. I built the side door out of wood and its solid and heavy. Well with monsoon season the door has swollen and wedged itself in so tight we had to remove the hinges and use a screw driver to pry it out. I took my table saw to it and tried saving about 3/8" off each side and kinda jacked it up. It doesn't swell **** anymore but my top cut is kinda crooked. Oh well. Eventually I'll probably end up making a new one and might try building it out of metal.

We've nicknamed our trailer Tallboy Trailers.

We got the spare tire finally mounted to the side of the trailer. It went on easy and looks great I think

I just paged through your awesome build with a big smile on my face! I can't believe we haven't crossed paths before. I kept thinking great minds think a like, or maybe we're both crazy? Here's a couple pictures of my build. Oops I need to switch to my computer where the photos are.
