Not quite, the tasks are hard to check off in Word or Excel.

Not sure if you want Google to have it, but they have a "Tasks" gadget that you can access from the Dolphin browser (under Google Services). Putting the tasks into Google's cloud gives you access from just about anywhere you have access to the computer... Google's Notebook is also useful--you can share certain notebooks with others, similarly to other Google Docs. Thus, you and your trip companions can all edit the same notebook...
