FG's in Action

I was walking through the town of Ganges on Salt Spring Island going to the Saturday market and something caught my eye, it was the fire departments new fast response fire and rescue truck based on the FG platform, the fire department is fairly progressive and decided to go away from the standard NA truck that they have been using, it had many areas for cargo, a location for extra crew right behind the cab, generator and equipment, carries 250 gallons of water to be mixed with retardant, front Warn winch and was generally well put together.

Going nowhere near Sturgis South Dakota.

The worst October blizzard in South Dakota history....7 hours (and 2") of continuous rainfall followed by 3' of snow, 40-60 mph sustained winds for 24 hours, and lows in the 20's. Thanks to R18 insulation, dual pane windows, 440 amh of power storage, and a Wallas stove/heater we were dry (minimal condensation), warm (70's), and comfortable for 60 hours of down time. Not exactly an "FG in Action" but certainly one doing the job...
