Got the tires dirty!
Wife and I decided to take advantage of our gorgeous Indian summer weather and drove up to Leadville (elevation 10,200') on Sunday. We got there early so before the shops opened we took a little drive around the old mining areas that dot the Leadville region.
.
The Pathy did great, even with the crappy Kumho street tires. Here she is at an old mine:

Brown Nissan really blends into the brown hills.
.
On our way back we took Weston Pass. In retrospect, not a good choice. Weston is VERY rocky! Like, shake-the-fillings-out-of-your-teeth rocky. And with no air compressor I didn't want to air down my tires, so we endured a rattle-filled drive for about 15 miles. We should have just stayed on the pavement and gone through Buena Vista. I doubt we saved even 5 minutes of time because most of the time I was on Weston Pass I was in 1st or 2nd gear just trying to keep the whole truck from rattling apart!
.
Overall the truck did great, though. And I filled up on Monday and noted 21.5 MPG for the 300 miles or so that I had done. Not bad at all.
