Good to see you are out enjoying the rig. Looking at the shock install pics, it looks like you left the shipping covers (plastic mesh) on? Any reason? I know my Bilsteins rusted out in about a week, thinking that mesh might cause the same thing? Do you have much issue with rust in PDX?
The truck lived most its life in Sisters in dry high desert air, so all bolts come off clean and the body is wonderful except.. my adding "character."
The shock stuff with shipping was fitment stuff. No real need to keep it on unless you want your shocks looking perfect for some reason. We don't have much problem around PDX with rust unless you leave it uncovered outside.. then it is more an issue of growing moss all over it.
That truck will go just about anywhere for a long time, and is setup to be efficient at pulling over for insta-camp. It is a really simple but custom kind of build, keeping weight as low and centered as I can. I use the Hannibal roof rack sparingly only when I really want to use the awning, and the Hannibal RTT is going on my weekend warrior '85 pickup.
I would like to ship it to SA or Russia or somewhere I have a caretaker and then fly out a couple times a year to use it and really use it to explore. A high roof body is in the works.
