Winston Churchill spotted near Pagosa Springs ranch...

Today at a Wilderness EMT course discussions led to talk of a strange person sighted. We produced a photo, and he was identified as Winston, who has been missing now for some time. A possible search will be conducted tomorrow.

I thought you'd be interested to read this latest information on Winston. We are keeping an eye out for him in the mountains around here, we also have snow now up high... Hope he shows up soon somewhere!

:Wow1:

I have to say I was assuming the worst by now. That would be incredible if he turns up. I appreciate the updates.

How's the 62 coming along at Proffitt's?

I saw the truck a few weeks ago lifted, and no tranny. I expect to have it back in a 2 weeks or so. I will leave on the 7th, and can wait til the 1st if needed.
I can't wait! I have not done wheels, tires, yet, or drawer system... always something...
Winston was said to have been only lightly dressed, and had shorts on, and a heavy coat. We are below freezing every night, and last night we got our 1st snowstorm here. I think they will find him in next few days.

...I too have seen posters of Winston here in Flagstaff. Hope he's found soon.

Great Advice

Thanks again to everybody out there for help, advice, sourcing parts, etc...You've been great. I have now a Toyota Landcruiser transmission A440F that could be sold! $200 or offer me something/trade?
I am down to less than 3 weeks to go; I mailed in my Presidential Ballot this past week, the truck is nearing completion, and I am feeling better about all this. It has been hard doing this without a second vehicle to use while mine is at the shop. You have to see where I live to understand. Anyway THANKS tO ALL that helped, took a look, and voiced themselves!
Stay tuned as I will update with photos soon, and depart!

2 days to go...

I am supposed to pick up my truck Friday from Proffitts. I am going nuts without a vehicle-3 months now! Well worth it though in the end. I could not do my trips if not custom built up as needed. Maybe tomorrow I can get a photo or 2?
The a440 transmission did sell today to Randy, thanks Woody for helping! I am almost done, and gone.

I still need to get 7" or 8' x 16" Toyota steel rims. I have 33"x 9.50 BFG A/T's and think I may need a higher load rated tire-Any Suggestions?

The rack ended up being 10' long, extending a tad over the windshield/hood. It has 6 points where it attaches to the bumpers, sliders, fender bars. I bought the ARB Simpson-2 RTT thru www.proffitt'scruisers.com who did the custom rear bumper, and expedition rack with 5' viewing stand/cargo area as well as RTT.

We have had 2 snowstorms, and nights are in the 20's now. I am heading to surf in Oaxaca!!!!

I will post photos to my build up/travel site tomorrow or Friday!!!!!!

I ran them on my 3FJ40, it is the post-85 non-LC backspacing which is like 4.5" or so. They need spacers. I have 4 and a matching (according to Toyota) black steel spare.

It was the simplest all-Toyota wheel I could find in 16" without sourcing from SOR or another importer. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11131&highlight=3fj40

Honestly you can find something local for likely less the trouble, but if you want stock Toyota I do have someone traveling from PHX here back to Durango this Sunday...

16 Years on ExPo. Whoa!!
Looks Great Mike! I saw your blog, very cool... I can recommend some sweet beaches and even a killer surf spot on the west cape/Pacific near Todo Santos. There are also just a couple killer food places in Todo Santos (which is an awesome town) that I would recommend... One is covered in TGR stickers of course... Cheers man and congrats again. Truck looks awesome... I dug your stated mentality on your blog and voted yesterday as well :)
