I have a tailgate as well and dislike the side of the body mounted tail lights, especially with the number plate hanging under the lights. The number plate gets so trashed....
I see what you did but trying to find a solution that allows the number plate to be lit as its meant to be.

What length are your two pieces to get your height on your lid? I like your design just want to scale it down a bit.

I have a few more questions

Just had mine sandblasted. Going to spray myself, but not knocking out dents and filling





Never sprayed before. Have mcGraw 21 gallon compressor. From what I gather, not enough for HVLP, so looking at LVLP. What compressor did you use with HF gun?

Which primer did you use? I assume a nozzle of 1.8-2.0mm?

That Armour Gurd stuff is good for underboddy? Goes stright on primer? What setting on spray gun did you use for the liner?
