Mark, what model of Southco latches were they? Were they cast or plastic? I know I pushed on one on Saturday but am not sure whether it was plastic or cast.

Corner caps go on all builds. They finish the corners nicely and really tie up the structural perimeter, I should have our cast units done in a couple of months, will save some time and money and should look even better.
The Southco latches I used were the plastic ones, we have the cast ones too, the latches are fine, especially the cast ones and we have used them for a while, it's just the dinky little catch and the dinky little screws, and they are never really "tight'.

After clean up.

Lower unit, was fun to build and looks pretty good.

Front view. I like heavy duty corner caps, the finish the unit off nicely, add structural integrity...your not gonna rip one off, and they seal up 100%.

What pride you must feel when you look at the finished product. Every piece is a work of fine craftsmanship.

Hey, you know what? I have the same thoughts of those kick ***** pics you manage to grab at just the right time. I have enough difficulty with a still shot and a smart camera.....

Those corners look beautiful! I don't think I can handle going outside today looking at my northstar compared to this thing!

Mega jealous of these skills. Dude you're hardcore like a level not seen since the crocodile hunter.

"Sorry mate, gotta take some time off from building my bad *** composite camper so that I can finish this storm chaser truck"

Your career was never offered to me in high school as an option on career day.

Those liars!!

Now now don't get carried away. It's just a manifestation of my attention deficit disorder combined with a serious lack of patience!

Little stuff

We've been going in and out of this thing, and have had up to 5 people standing inside including a couple really good sized guys that make me look little, it's pretty roomy, and the jacks and mounts don't show any sign of distress. It sits nice and solid on them, so you COULD drop it down on the jacks, and easily use it without blocking it up. Not a lot of units with that capability. Really happy with the stability on the jacks, with a load. I was just catching a few details and we will be putting the upholstery and accessories on now.

Out with the wood!

Corner cap, jack plug in detail.

Seating area, I was thinking about using baltic birch for the seating area, I picked up a sheet.....and put it right back. At 25% of the weight I will use one of our composite panels for this area too, close up shot shows structure. This panel only has a 1/2" thick PP HC core with .065 skins, super tough. This is one area where the HC core shows it's deflective load capacities.

Easy to router out a little clearance, this was done with a hand held square and a small router, no grabbing, no chatter.

Bunk platform cut from 1.5" HC core, super solid, about 4 lbs. Bunk is in the down position.
