Welcome!

Very nice rig!

I'm currious if your wheels are off a 4Runner (16" wheels). I was thinking of buying a set of 16" OEM toyota wheels when I purchased the new Cooper ST tires to keep the factory "vintage" of the truck. At the end of the day I decided to pickp up the black wheelers wheels. I'm pleased with the outcome.

Post up more pics of that rear bumper. Who built it, you? Looks good.

Welcome to ExPo!

Cheers ,

I was going to ask the same thing:sombrero:

Nice rig:26_7_2: So what's your wish list like?

Sorry for the long wait, I've been "out of office". So I'll address what I can.

Wheels. The same as the 4runner's, but were actually a dealer add-on (which was good as I didn't like the 01-04 wheels).

Bumper. It was inspired from Willman's bumper, built by a friend and I. Many weekends of blood & sweat. I will try to post more of it, I just don't have a lot right now, and it's been covered in salt for the past few months.

Ahh, the wish list. To be modest and keep it short; a winch, GPS (although paper maps have served me well), scan gauge, finish my gears-skid-hoops, snorkle (as I'm a farm boy and know the importance. They didn't put them on our tractors for water crossings). I digress.

Alcans. Flex very nice, have held up fine, although I will need more leaves in the future as they squat pretty good with a full load.

Tranny cooler. Great addition and a recommendation. I'm not worried about cold weather nor a fluid by-pass. Now if I was in Alaska, might be a different story.

some more bumper pics

Here's a couple of the bumper during the process. I'm not good about taking pictures while sweating-grinding-welding-cursing :victory:

Nice set up. Which OME shocks did you get? How is the ride?

4Runner wheels will have a lower backspacing than a Tacoma, which will push it out more. I believe the Tacoma's have 4.75 or 5" backspacing and the 4Runners have 4.625" of backspacing. If you want you wheels to push out a bit more and still want to keep the stock look, it's a good option.

The OME are the N91s (firm) for the front, and N85 for the rear (to the best of my memory). With the tundra coils, I should have went with N91SC (comfort). Rides like a truck, feels stable on the highway, but needs more flex off road. Guess I'll need that winch sonner than expected. :D

As far as the wheels go, the backspacing is the same as the tacoma wheels (01-04), unless my tape measure and straight edge lied to me. Of course I have since forgot what it is, so now I will have to measure again tonight, but they are both less than 4.5", so it didn't push the tires out any farther. But they're nice and light.

Dunno if you even have the truck anymore, but do you have any pics of where you mounted the CB? I'm looking at picking up one of those Cobras and want to mount it in the ashtray location.

I mounted mine in the ashtray location as well, and the external speaker is in the ashtray location that used to be in the center console (keeps it clean and out of the way). And yeah, I still have it, some slight changes (guess I could update)
