Flemster's 22 Ram 3500 Build - Sherpa Edition

I got my Carli Pintop 3.25 Kit that I orderd from CJC Offroad installed over the weekend. It was a project but managble in 2 days with a couple of hands.

Pretty much everything could be done by yourself except for the rear leaf pack. The proggresive leafs are incredibly heavy!

Carli Suspension 3.25" Pintop 2.5 Suspension System 2013-2022 Ram 3500 6.7L Cummins with Factory Air Assist
Carli Suspension 2013+ Dodge Ram 3500 Full Progressive Leaf Springs 2" Auto Leveling Air Suspension
Carli Suspension 2013+ Ram 3500 Rear Leaf Spring Shackle
Carli Suspension 2019+ Ram 2500/3500 Stainless High and Low Mount Steering Stabilizer
Carli Suspension 2014+ Dodge Ram Sway Bar Drops

All said and done I am very happy with the ride and excited to get it into the dirt! I also installed my XL80 Ditch Lights and need to install my XL80 7 Linkable Bumper Lights and Squadron Fog with the CJC Mount kit.

We started the design process for the Ram roof rack here at Sherpa as well. 3D Scanned the roofline, checked inside the headliner for clearance and mount locations as it does require drilling, as well as mocking up mount placement (It will have 6 mounts total).

Can you easily pull off the roof rack and keep the holes sealed up?
Yes, we use custom machined Rivet Mounts that attach to the roof. These are then threaded and the rack feet bolt into them, so you can install and uninstall the rack without fussing with the holes/rivets in the roof itself.

The install will be very similar to our F-150 Rack System.

I hope everyone had a good holiday and have some fun plans for the New Year.

I stayed late at the shop on Monday and got all the Baja Designs mounted and wired to the SPOD. I am stoked on how this lighting setup turned out. It's arguably way too much light but out in the desert at night this is going to be awesome.

2 XL80 Ditch Lights with Wide Corning Amber Lenses
7 XL80 Linkable Kit for the bumper with amber lenses on the outside.

Stoked how this turned out. Now to finish up the roof rack and start getting this thing ready for King of the Hammers. Not going to do too much but button up some small things.

Thing is looking great. Love how streamlined it is. Did you decide to just nix the winch due to the intercooler interference issue with the stock bumper?

Yea, that project is on hold untill I can really spend some solid time thinking about how to make it work. The biggest issue will be it blocking airflow, the packaing is doable, it will just be pushed forward a little more and need a custom center section that protrudes out a bit.

Just stick the winch in the rear spare tire location now that you can't fit your 37 there!

The Roof Rack is coming along, getting close to release on this thing!

The Diablo Rack by Sherpa Equipment Co.

I'll update here as soon as it is available for purchase but for now just enjoying sharing the process with you all!

My favorite part about this bed rack system is the ability to load motos in the back still!

AEV is the only company that engineered a bumper, using actual engineers, that provides the airflow necessary to maintain your factory cooling system.

They paying you by the post? ;)

Regardless of your definition of "engineers", How do you know that none of the aftermarket options provide the necessary airflow? It may be the case that AEV is the only one who tests for airflow, but if they do, they don't post that information on the page you linked.

No pay at all - I made enough good decisions and money to retire in my 50s. When you stop caring about money and what other people think, only then are you able to make the best decisions.

And by engineers, I am referring to engineers with an actual engineering degree picked from within the automotive industry. I understand your confusion since people through around the term engineer and engineering like it is nothing. I am talking about the real thing.

Regarding testing airflow and other details, when all of your gear is subjected to SAE testing, all critical details are tested. Who else subjects their systems to SAE testing besides AEV?
