I have no experience with Allpro springs but to me they definitely look too long. My OMEs with OME shackles are no where near that angle. Just courious, have you measured the distance of the Allpro springs yet to compare them with the stock distance? I would avoid relocating your hangers and just have them send another set of springs or just get a refund and buy some Deavers or OME. If your intention is to carry extra weight without sagging too much you'd probably be better off getting a properly tuned pair of Deavers set at 2-2.5" of lift or some OME that use an overload. Let us know how it works out.

What's a get-a-long? I do have a hitch and have a D shackle mount in it.
Your "get-a-long" is your walk. A "hitch" is a limp.

I worked with an old cowboy at one time, I sprained my ankle during a mountain bike ride over a weekend. That is what he asked me when I saw him.

It sounds funny to me, so I use it every now and then. :sombrero:

wil. like the truck so far nice job.

the spring problem may be a compination of things, the pack may be the right length uninstalled, but as we all know the packs flatten out, with the way all pro peens them it may actually be longer by about a 1/2 inch, thus throwing off all your hanger and shackle mounts. i dont under stand why you need a 5" lift pack tho, why didnt you just go get some chevy 1/2ton 53s and the sky shackles, they would have saved you a couple hundred bucks and fit perfetcly. take out a leaf or too and you will have pleanty of flex and weight support.

Wil,

My front spring hanger bolt to rear top shackle mount bolt, center to center = 53" -- 2003 DoubleCab with Deaver 10 pack.

Thanks Pete!

Yeah, but the springs should at least have the center pin moved to accomadate the flex to allow the wheel to tuck up. I am still unsure of Terry's reply... we'll see when I get to measure and compare to Pete's measurements.

Wil,

Try and get a measurement from the front hanger bolt to the center pin in addition to the full measurement.

Update on the spring issues

Well I have finally made up my mind and pending how the call goes with All Pro tomorrow, I got a shoe in for a 1 yr old Deaver 10 Pack... at a screaming price. If I can some how manage to convince FlyingWen that this is a better alternative, and safer for FlyingBaby (the key here), I will trade in the All Pro springs for some new shocks and a set of steel braided brake lines in exchange for the springs... end result should be what I was ultimately after. Now to just convince her...:littlefriend:

Might be a bit tough... didn't you already use the "family safety" angle for the snorkel? Maybe go the "long-term reliability/preventive maintenance" or the "it's going to save us money in the long run" route.

Or maybe you can try one that most of the rest of us can't use: "business expense". :shakin:

At this point she knows I am irate about the rear end of my truck and at this point there is no turning back:oops: , and we have to what it takes to get it done and done right.

Those springs are wrong and too long...

What is more likely, an inconsistency in the manufacturing of an aftermarket spring pack or an inconsistency in a Toyota frame?

Measure from eye to eye for me please and from the front eye to the center pin. Thanks (I will measure my Deavers to compare).

Are those a true 5" lift spring? How thick is the pack? How many leaves? What is the load rating of the new springs?

I think Toyota is correct.

Unfortunately at work until 2Am... Eye to eye is going to be 53" according to the posts on TTORA.

About 5 Inches thick off the top of my head.

How many leaves?
8.5 leaves...the half one is an anti axle wrap leaf.

They said 200lb/inch of sag.
