LOL! I remember that thread distinctly! I also recall the brilliant argument made for snorkels as a safety enhancement -- especially for the children.

I can't tell you how many times that snorkel has saved my life... and how many times I've showed my wife pictures of a water crossing and proclaimed, "see honey, it just paid for itself - again!"

Better to have it and not need it than not have it and need it. I think those rock lights are critical pieces of safety gear - must have them...

Less teasers and more posting - we want to see that new mystery battery mangement system!

Ok here is some pics pre-install:

I went with the IBS dual battery system with the option RBM (Relay Booster Module) to replace my problematic National Luna

Here you can see the control unit. It is slightly larger than the NL, but has all electronics in the cab, unlike the NL which has it mounted above the solenoid. This makes this unit much more water resistant than the NL kit.
IBS%20007.JPG

The solenoid itself is much smaller in comparison and sound wise much quieter when linking or disconnecting the batteries. When I h ad the surepower solenoid it would trigger the glass break sensor on the alarm, as would the NL. This unit does not trigger the glass break sensor with the solenoid mounted directly to the firewall.

It's hard to tell here, but everything is sealed, keeping water and dust out.

The harness was a breeze to set up, simply 4 wires through the firewall and connect per the instructional diagram. In my case since I was installing the RBM, the diagram I had to follow was the one included in the RBM package.

Again fully sealed!!!

When it stops raining I will post up some finished pictures.

I also replaced all of my windows trim panels, I had a few missing pieces from trees running down the sides of my truck, and the black paint was starting to peel leaving exposed chrome! Chromaphobia was kicking in full throttle.

Here you can see new vs. old:

Here you can see where a tree had ripped off one of the exterior clips that hold the molding.

I will come back and edit this post once I get pics... but I think you can get the point... back to like new.

EDIT: Here is the new trim pieces on:
