Dont forget that when you put the skins on it will be thicker also

What was the door thickness you guys had? Mine are going to be slightly beyond the handle depth so the inner skin will leave the handle being recessed in a bit.

Think 1.75"??? Ill have to double check. I picked up longer bolts for my handle works perfect

I was thinking on doing the same with the longer bolts and spread the handles to their max. I wonder if I can get 2 inches out of them..I don't know, that may be pushing it. Or just modify the inner lever and lock stem...hmm

I used 1x2 framing (flat) and both skins were 5.2mm plywood (.204") for a total of 1.158"

.204?? Haha talk about gettin' your measurements spot on... I like it:thumbsup: So you had no issues at all with thickness of the door then, I'm guessing. Me on the other hand, wasn't putting much thought into window depth before my finger got excited and clicked "buy it now" lol

I just checked out your door handles zuke...and yours again stomper, and looking at the pics made me realize why I was getting baffled. The thickness of my doors had me confused and going about it wrong. I have it figured out now though. Thanks guys! Much appreciated!

I used same catches on mine and my doors finished dimension is 1.1875 or 1 3/16 as you can see by picture the latch portion is flush with inner skin.
