"It will be good for your soul."

I told my brother in law Kevin the above as he was trying to figure out his ability to attend the trip or not. He came along.

It was great for our souls.

How were the temps? I wanna do the white rim again sometime soon, I want to before the crowds in september and october. Last time I went was Nov of 2008, weather was perfect, but there just wasn't much light in the day to do anything. Or I guess I didn't plan my days very well.

First two days the temps were perfect...warm, but not extreme. Somewhat humid (for S. Utah) The last night it was hot and muggy, a storm rolled through which clouded the skies over.
I hope you're just getting started. :) with your trip report.

Just getting started.

Can't say for sure, but the others in the group never reported to me anything higher than 99 from their vehicle's temperature display.

That looks awesome!

Scott Brady has talked about putting a bicycle trip together for there, hopefully later this year. If it materializes I hope to go.

I was lucky enough to be invited to head to the White Rim Trail with a group of folks from the www.toyota120.com website. All were traveling from California to go see the Moab area and had permits for the White Rim. I appreciate their friendliness and trust in me when I suggested we change our campsite for the first night from the Airport to Murphy A/B/C. Pleasure to meet everyone. Rick, Kevin, and I all agreed you were a fun group...mellow, just the way we like it.

We left Sandy late, and arrived in Moab at 'The Spot' at nearly 3am. We were greeted by a cool morning as we hurried to meet the group early in the morning.

My pillow...and the view:

The small photos were taken by my co-pilots Rick (my older brother) and Kevin (my brother in law)

The first two nights were cool...perhaps 68-72ish. The last night along the river it was for sure at least 85 and quite humid (for Utah). No breeze whatsoever.

The pace heading out the 40+ miles to Murphy's A/B/C was slow, but as it turns out, we saw a magnificent storm develop right in front of us...blowing rain, sand, and clouds, thunder and lightning chasing us down. We were fortunate to be still on our way, in the safety of vehicles.
