Hello... does anyone have a clear/good shot of a slider door that has been modified on the ford, mine is an 2001. Iv'e heard its been done but have seen no pictures showing how or what was done.... Thanks in advance.

I called Quad van a couple years ago and they will not sell the parts. My door rubs on the tire more than hits it so I live with it. If I did not have interior panels that I don't want to remove I would drill the track rivets out and space the track out. The door also has an interior side bulge in it that could be cut out to make more clearance. Between the two mods I think you could gain enough to clear any tire. I would note that as the rear end articulates it swings out. So if your close and move the van with the door open it could hit.

As the door slides forward, the connecting bar comes to a stop, and the door swings into the body. If you lengthen the connecting bar, you will need to change the stopping point for an easy door-closeing. The longer bar will provide more room between the door and tire.

You may also want to consider a wheel with less outboard offset. Choose a wheel with a (+) offset (inboard).

Quiete interesting to see.

I was allways wondering why US vans are sold or can be sold without sliding doors but instead swing doors. 2 side doors are less handy to open and need to do so much more room!
In Europe there is no company or model that I know of that sell Busses (meaning up to 9 passengers in total, as more is not leagal in EU w/o a special bus driving licence) w/o sliding doors. Best known is VW Bus, so called "Bully" in Germany. And they dont have a cargo style.
