I have to say, that's a very nice looking Disco i love the colour, i wanted that colour myself but couldn't find one:mad:

One question about the front bumpers you guys have there, do you have any SRS airbag laws there, here the front bumpers have to meet ADR (Australian Design Rules) requirements, they have to be airbag compatable.

Baz.

Thanks Baz~

I love the color as well. The bumper is mounted with no crush cans, gave me great approach angles and is very stout.

4) Are all vehicle classes required to meet the Federal bumper standard?

No. The Federal bumper standard does not apply to vehicles other than passenger cars (i.e., sport utility vehicles (SUVs), minivans, or pickups trucks). The agency has chosen not to regulate bumper performance or elevation for these vehicle classes because of the potential compromise to the vehicle utility in operating on loading ramps and off road situations.

Hopes this answers your question.

Perfectly, shame it's not the same here, any vehicle with airbags has to comply:mad: even heavy vehicles (ie)semi's, road trains.

Really sweet looking Rover. That new bumper rocks.

If I wasn't already a Cruiser guy going back 15 years....

Tarbe,

Thanks I love it and got a chance to use it a couple of times and it exceeded my expectations.

Looks KewL Louis!

Now come to think of it.........I'm wondering if my 4Runner came with a mini blackout decal before they got kewl?.....!

It matches my decals on the side but seems to serve the same purpose as yours only on a smaller scale.

See it right in front of my drivers side windshield?

Thanks Graham, I think I'm going to stick with the green and black theme.

Those will be my "Jungle Expedition" colors.

Mark,

I believe you are right I noticed I didnt have those decals on bluerunner and every once in awhile I would catch the sun in my eyes... nothing like the discovery hood that's for sure!

Too bad our paths didnt cross while you were in Colorado... maybe another time!

Louis,
Great looking Disco! I am new to the list, but old to Rovers. Your first post said that you may want a roof rack and you mentioned the Hannibal. If I may suggest going with the Safety Devices if you want one. The SD has more ‘feet' and spreads the load more efficiently. The Disco roof racks mound to the drip gutter. The Hannibal rack only has three 'feet' on each side and holds the rack higher than the SD does. I have had the SD from the dealer, the SD 'Camel Trophy' edition and used Wilderness by Garvin. The Garvin rack is constructed in a similar fashion to the Hannibal in that it has long 'feet' that hold the basket above the roof rails. That extra distance gives the weight of the basket more leverage and will eventually wear the gutter into breaking. God forbid you ********** a tree or large rock with the roof rack... Anyhow...my .02

Welcome!!!

I really appreciate your input! But I have seen the damage that the Safety Devices "feet" put on the gutter and I guess I would rather have the support from the Hannibal that runs along the gutter distributing the load, it doesnt look at home on the Disco like the SD rack but I guess that will be ok.

Feets

Oooooooo! I see what you mean. I had never noticed that on the Hannibal. That is a much better design and looks like a better design than what I was talking about. The Wilderness by Garvin that I had just had the 'feet' and no rail that went into the whole gutter.
Well, build a better mouse trap...
Happy Rovering and thanks for the info!
