I bought this LX450 as a project vehicle. Now a family member is facing foreclosure. I can't justify keeping a toy like this when relatives may lose their home.
Mechanical condition -- Very Good
--------------------------
I have no hesitation driving this vehicle anywhere today.
Engine and transmission run fine, no noises, no exhaust smoke.
Transfer case low range and locking differentials work well.
Electrical systems and bulbs work, including retractable radio antenna and dash lights
Mechanical issues
--------------------------
1. Front passenger seat won't move forward
...The electric motor still runs. I suspect the drive mechanism is off its track.
...The seat is stuck in its rear-most position, and does not interfere with folding the second row seats.
...The motor that makes the passenger seat back recline still works.
2. Oil drip
...I think the drip is from the rear arch of the oil pan, a common source for drips in this model
...The drip amounts to a quart in 1000 miles
3. I did not receive service records when I purchased the vehicle.
...I have driven the vehicle for about 5000 miles. During that time, service included a tune-up/fluid level check/general inspection when I bought the vehicle, and two oil changes.
Exterior Appearance -- Good

The exterior paint is very shiny, as the photos show. No rust anwhere. The vehicle looks great for a 12 year old model.
Exterior issues
--------------------------
1. Damage to lower tailgate
The center of the lower tailgate has a 2" x 2" dent. See photos for appearance.
The dent happened in 2004, before I owned the vehicle, so I don't know how it happened. The accident is the only item in the CarFax report. Whatever made the dent missed the bumper. The dent does not affect the operation of the tailgate. A replacement lower tailgate costs about $300.
2. Curbside front bumper end cap has several scrapes and loss of some clearcoat. The bumper appears to be pushed back slightly on this corner.
3. Paint on hood has a number of rock chips on the leading edge. Other spots on the hood appear to be caused by loss of the clearcoat.
4. Streetside rear door has small scratches in the clearcoat. I have not tried to buff them out.
Interior Appearance -- Very good

The interior is very clean. The headliner is clean, with a few scuffs visible in the cargo area. No tears, no stains. The dashboard pad has no cracks. See photos.
Interior issues
--------------------------
1. Driver's leather seat cover is worn on the edge. The area is not torn, but the leather has been worn away by "butt drag" as the driver (improperly) slides out of the vehicle. See photos.
2. Driver's seat has a number of small cracks and stains, not really visible in the photos.
