FSJ buildup- Tank!

i'm trying to sell the 401 V8 right now.

i have a diesel conversion in the works using the stock transmission transfer case.

if it sells, i'll show you the planned diesel motor then as well. 4 more days on the auction.

one of those back to nature wood grain stickers all the fancy cars came with in the 70's and 80's. its classic for sure! maybe even a little posh

well, apparently there is still a lot of crap in the gas tank.

both of the fuel filters clogged up today. i barely made it back home. luckly i had some starting fluid that got me home.

$20 later its running again

its only been one week running and only gone through 2 fuel filters.

You might find that if there is rust and crap in the tank, it may never go away. Best options is to pull it, have it cleaned and sealed or replace it with another one. I have seen people deal with this for months or years until they cleaned/sealed or replaced it.

YMMV

I have a factory poly gas tank out of a 1982 Grand Waggie in great shape. You can have it free if can figure out how. I am selling/buying houses and moving right now and don't have time to ship it. Pm me if you want it

Alright

i'm borrowing a bore scope to check out the insides of the cylinders to make sure there are not any un-foreseen problems with the motor.

turbo is in good nic. i'll do some clean up on the motor. i already pressure washed it with steam for about 20 minutes to get all the crap off. i'm going to go pick some paint up at the store to paint the engine. the steamer took most of the paint off.:coffeedrink:

i'm not sure how many miles it has.

when i inspect the cylinders with the bore scope i'll know what kind of shape its in and what else i'll be doing to it. atleast it has sleeves in the cylinders so it is really easy to rebuild.
