just waiting on my bell-housing and some parts to swap in a manual tranny. i'm going to use a T18A and D20 combo from a 1974 J10. I traded my friend my TH400 Bw1339 for his manual tranny.

i used a can of bedliner in the engine compartment i had laying around. hopefully it'll deaden the noise of the diesel engine.

Wow you too that is cool. We are both working on wagons. Are you going to use your comander seat in the back? I still havent installed my wrangler seat. Wish you were closer so we could swap parts and things.

Wow I can't imagine pulline engine, tranny, and transfercase at separate times. I suppose I am spoiled, just hook them to the bridge crane and yoink 'em all at the same time. Your waggy is pretty sweet. I would love to trade you states. I miss the snow.

well some bad news last night.

i decided to check the compression on the engine. one cylinder didn't have any compression. so i decided to remove the head, 30 bolts later, i remove the head. there is a hole in #5's piston.

so, i think the diesel dream is dead for now. i think i'm going to get a 360 and install the automatic back in there. kind of sad,

i tore out the stock gas tank and will be installing a tank from a chevy suburban. it holds 41 gallons. so maybe i'll be able to go a bit further.

Wish I was doing the diesel swap now (waiting on 4BT) then I could sell you my 360. How about rebuilding the diesel engine?

Waooooza... thats quiet a project going on there...

Keep them photos coming... definitely wanting to see the end result...

its a nissan I6 diesel.

3.3L

kiki (bosch injection pump)

T3 turbo

engine code is sd33t or 6-33T

the same engine was used in:

nissan patrols, jeep cj10a, 1980 international scout II, and in forklifts.

at this point i do not want to put that much money into this motor.

well, the friend i bought the motor from is letting me bring it back. he said i can have either a 304 V8 or a 360 V8. Both have two barrel carbs. both started up and ran fine.

which motor should i go for, both bolt in.
