i almost have the whole engine torn down. i must say its in great shape. i also bought a cylinder honing tool. hopefully all my parts will show up quickly and i can get this thing together quickly.
i'm going to do a dual exhaust and call it good. pictures will be coming shortly.
still waiting for my parts to put my engine back together.
but i did buy:
summit RV cam and cam bearings:victory:
i've finished honing the cylinders in the engine and i used a ridge reamer on it. all the parts are cleaned and mostly painted. if my rings and gaskets would just show up, i could put it back together.
i have not found a job yet. i have enough savings to make it for another month pretty easily. hoping to work in the oil field for the summer months and sock away $20-30K:elkgrin:
that will require a ton of overtime though, not much family time. but when i go back to school in the fall i'll be set up pretty well.
alright some progress today. i installed my transmission and t-case, installed the 42 gallon gas tank. cleaned up a bunch of crap.
my engine is still at the machine shop having the new cam bearings installed. the machine shop guy also said he would hone my cylinders for free. i guess he thought my home done job wasn't up to his standards. oh-well, i tried.
some pictures:
i worked on the heads yesterday. i replaced the valve stem seals. pretty easy, just time consuming. it took about 8 hours. i cleaned off all the carbon from the valves and from inside the chambers and intake and exhaust tubes. everything came out really well.
junkyard stereo install. awia stereo with aux input. 6x9 eclipse 3 way speakers. also installed two amps: pioneer 300W mosfet and sony 444W mosfet amp.
i'll be adding speakers in the rear doors later on.
