the tank should be pretty good. 42 gallons should give me a nice range. if i get 17 mpg on the highway i can go 714 miles per fill-up. but it will be a little expensive to fill up. $120 for a full tank.:Wow1:

man this engine rebuild has been going so slow.

i was slowed down by wrong parts (ordered main bearings for an AMC 360 but got Dodge 360 bearings). Moral of the story, order from Summit Racing.

anyway. i got the motor in the jeep. tried to turn it over by hand and noticed it wouldn't turn over all the way. upon further investigation i found a lock washer in #6. i have no idea where it came from, but my father-in-law and i tore off the heads. then we reassembled it without to much trouble.

right now i'm hooking up the gas tank. its all i need to do to get this thing running. it should be running monday.

Engine Build Specs

Stock bottom end, just honed the cylinders
Cleavite bearings
Summit 8600 Cam
Felpro gaskets
new rocker arm bridges
paint, lots of paint.

Future mods will be GM TBI this summer.

THE 360 RUNS. sounds good, but i have open exhaust manifolds.

it goes to the exhaust shop Wednesday or Thursday and then i can break in the motor properly.

Just a few more things to do:

exhaust
guages
console
lift: 2 or 4" haven't decided
front bumper for my winch
reattach the hitch to the rear

right now i have some 31" tires on it without any lift.

i think i'll go for 33's and 4" of lift.

going to the exhaust shop tomorrow or thursday, whenever he can fit me in. new 2.5" system with new y-pipe to the rear axle for $125!:victory:

engine compartment pictures, just a few vacuum lines left to hook up and plug. also need to adjust the throttle pedal linkage. its a bit to long right now. still need to adjust the carb and set the timing correctly.

i finally got the thing out in the dirt.:victory::victory::wings:

holy c**p it felt great! so much better then my old commander. this thing didn't slip a tire. i went through stuff that would have freaked out my commander. the commander had 3 inches of lift and 32" tires.

the waggy is on the stock suspension and 31" tires.

just some minor stuff to do still. gauges, some interior bits, suspension
