Just found this build. I love seeing the fuller full sized done up. We have lots of rig rockets running around here in Alberta with lots of lift and every power bolt on and clip on, on the market. It will be nice to see function over form n a build of a F250.
Horses are good Idea they are shortly going to be cheaper to keep and get around on then a average truck.

Less shoveling with a truck :sombrero:

The project is looking great, Martyn. Seeing it at the Overland Rally in Hollister was a treat. And documenting the design and build process helps the rest of us a lot. Thanks.

Agreed, that's always how I have built my trucks, particularly my full-sized diesels. They seem to simply work well, better. :smiley_drive:

Looks good with the horse trailer, What type of horse do you have? My last one was a Hanaverian/Trakehner cross.

We have Kip who is a Thoroughbred/Warmblood, dressage and 3 day eventing, hence the 17.2 hands and extra tall trailer. We also have Leidi a Spanish Arabian, for endurance.

Hey there, just came acorss this thread, your truck looks great hope you dont mind if I copy some of your setup. I have a 2003 ford f250 7.3 xtra cab shortbed on 35's with leveling kit. I like the 35's for the dirt but not towing. Are you going to replace the unit bearing with different hub setup or run it till it breaks? Any chance you have a pic of the snorkel attachment to the airbox? Thanks!

I'll take some pictures tomorrow. Not much to see really. The snorkel comes into the other side of the air box from the regular intake and ARB provides a plate to seal up the old entry.

I'm not anticipating any issues with the hubs.

I appreciate the pictures. Does your truck have the shift on the fly setup or floor shifted? I have heard of issue with the on the shift on the fly setup and stock hubs not properly engaging. I luckily have the floor shifter. Any idea on when the bed compartment setup will be ready and ball park figure on pricing? Once again love the setup! Here is mine awhile back after I did the rock sliders that saved it from going over. I was actually about 4 feet to the driver side when the road gave out. I had been over that road dozen of times in the my jeep. luckily it turned okay with no damage.

Scary picture!

I have shift on the fly, with manual hubs. No issues so far. I don't think 4WD has been used much on this truck. I rarely have to engage 4WD off road, and have primarily used it during the winter when it snows.

Are you going to be out west Oct 9th? We are having an open house in Prescott. If all goes as planned I'll be fitting the first stage of the composite storage into the bed.

I will, I'm in CA right now. I'm busy on the 9th though, building a van out here. I was hoping to swing by on my way home (late Oct). I'll shoot ya a PM or email in the next few weeks.---- Chris

Hey

Martyn,

How is the whole flip-pac working out? I love the concept ever since I saw Vince's setup on his Toy on these forums. I have a Unicover construction type topper with a twin matress in the back, works ok. I have to admit....I personally don't like the graphics, maybe something two-tone and slightly smaller, but hey it's not my truck...love the back end.

On a side note....Anyone familiar and used bedrug? How did you like it?
