It's not the kind of truck you would modify into a rockcrawler.
A G lends itself nicely to serious overlanding and exploration with a minimum of mods.
Most owners are happy with the performance of 1 - 1½ inch lift by mercedes heavyduty springs. They have a color system that will tell you what load they can take and how much higher your truck is going to sit.
Just know the more extreme you plan to lift, the more vibrations will come from the driveline... And that will cost you a lot to repair.
You can do a simple bodylift up to 40mm if looks are what you are after. Lifting the body from the chassis will not cause any changed driveline angles.

As that is a current W461 model with permanent 4wd just like a W463. Then the parts could be found within Mercedes spareparts programme. I'd just like to know how they got the geometri right.
Obviously there is differences from the old style W460 / 461, but it should be possible.

whats the stock tire diameter, and the max tire diameter on a stock rig btw?
im running 33's on the lexus, no lift. a couple more inches lift would have been nice last big snow. i high centered at the end of my street.

Stock tire diameter is dependent on model and year, at least for the ones we have in Europe. But count on about 29 inch.
They can take 31 with saggy old broken springs. Put in slightly higher rated springs and 33-34 is within reach.
35 + and you need to do some small modifications.

The Canadian trucks (which are lifted) have relocated control arm mounts from the factory. If you ever crawl under one of them, you'll notice that the brackets now hang down below the bottom of the frame rails. A compromise for off-roading, but it does solve the geometry problem rather elegantly.
