As an interesting bit of anecdote here - When I ran 31.5 BFG AT's I can only remember the DSC kicking in on fast winding roads once or twice. I then switched to the same diameter BFG MT's (no other change to the vehicle) and it kicks in much much more. The MT's weight less than the AT's.
.
But I will say, the MT's have less dry traction than the AT's so whatever it is using to calculate "when" is smart enough to know the compound difference.

As soon as my tax return comes in, I am ordering a Bluetooth tool. The new cross platform for it sounds awesome. We only have an LR3 now, but will most likely get an LR4 in a few years...

Edited to add... Just checked, it deposited overnight.... Ordering from Lucky8!!

As someone who does not have navigation in his 2006 LR3...will it be possible to replicate the 4x4 info screen experience with the new blue tooth and mac interface or future android interface for live display?

Also, I have a 2008 FFRR as well. Would I need two units or simply purchase the ability for multiple vin's? Thanks.

I would love to see a simple tool for EAS related values.Something small, that connects to OBD and changes hight values automatically or with little help of an IPHONE. Nothing else, just hight adjustment simplified.
I already own a Faultmate for everything else, but idea of connecting it to obd, then all cables to a computer and go thru options is time consuming and fiddling with all hardware makes me want to swear sometimes, especially when it is cold outside.

@sunrisehiker

The GAP EAS tool does exactly this. The non-BT model connects to the ODBII and is controlled with the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel and all the menus display on the info screen by the speedo and tach. No other cables/equip are requiredIt's not "automatic", but you can program different profiles so that you can easily switch between height settings.

Hi Steve, I don't have cruise control on my D4, can I still make use of the non bt tool or would I need to get the bt version. Thanks, Andy

Andy, it is pretty easy to add cruise control to your LR4...I think. I added the factory OEM cruise control to my LR3 very easily anyway. I doubt the systems have evolved all that much. The process to install it should be the same. The harness and sensors are already there (or were on the LR3 anyway). I just needed to order and install the module in the steering console, which was virtually plug and play. Special note: My truck required an electronic reset of the air bag system at the dealership, which they did for a minor fee (I brought in a tray of Starbucks coffee's early in the morning before the Service Advisers where there, and the mechanic's were nothing but smiles)

Johnsoax - Thanks! :)

Hi brick - I had meant to reply to your post 2 days ago. Got cught up in work and forgot. Sorry.

Replicating the 4x4 info screen would not be a problem - except for the additional work required in programming pretty pics. All the info is available: height sensor live data, SAS, etc.
To give an you an idea of the functions, the pic below shows the 4 height sensors in graph form (sorry for the poor quality - user pic from another forum).

For your RR you would not need to purchase a second IIDTool (or even a second VIN license if you did not need advanced diagnostic functions - see post #3 of this thread for more info) if you go with an IIDTool BT. The standard IIDTool has less memory on board, so we can only load the FW for one model type (i.e. either D3 or D4 or FFRR 2002-05, etc as per our functionality list). The IIDTool BT has enough memory so that we load the FW for all LR models on each tool and allow standard diagnostic functions w/o a VIN lock. Enhanced diagnostic functions require an additional VIN license.

Andy, you have several options:
- you can use the Windows IIDTool Controller App via USB with a standard IIDTool
- you can use an IIDTool BT
- or you can install the cruise control switchgear as Nathan says and use the integrated interface with the standard or BT IIDTool (thanks Nathan!)
If you choose to install the CC switchgear, generally you'll need to activate the cruise control in the CCF options with the IIDTool to get cruise to function - though we have heard of isolated cases where the CC worked immediately after installing the switches with no addtl. work done. Generally, tho, the switchgear broadcasts on the CAN immediately after being installed, so once you've installed the switches you can use the IIDTool over the integrated interface with no issues. We have had one or two cases where the cruise switches did not work properly right off the bat. If this were to happen on your vehicle, you'd need to use the Win Controller App via USB to activate the CC with your IIDTool. Afterwards everything will function normally.

It looks like the BT model has been added to my list of goodies! Is there a method to display wheel spin status? That and the front wheel steering angle would be nice to view simultaneously.

Is any similar recreation of the "pretty pics" planned? I realize it is probably not all that necessary since most people have navigation. I was just curious. Some of us have to rough it without all the pretty bits :(

Long shot...but any chance this will work with the Kindle Fire? Runs "special" Android apps...

Basic requirement for any Android device are:
- Software - Android 4.2> and
- Hardware - Bluetooth BLE (4.0).

Beyond that, try and see. Please do be aware that the Android controller is still the simple controller app that basically replicates the functions of the integrated interface, not the iPad app:
