After seeing this thread, I have been looking into the Garmin 550T some more.

I like the fact that is has the built in camera and can impose the GPS cords onto the picture.

Is anyone thinking of buying one?
I have an old Garmin yellow e-Trex, but would like to upgrade and have it map some of the areas I like to explore up where I go 4wheeling and camping.

I've decided to wait on my GPS purchase until this one comes out. I had been looking pretty hard at the Nuvi 500 put this seems like it may be more what I am looking for.

Yeah, my old e-Trex is a serial port unit, and I have not had a serial port connection on the last two PCs I have built.

I know Garmin makes a conversion cable now for that old e-Trex, but a newer one with more features and USB connection is much better.

I have a nice indash DVD nav setup that does show off road trails and roads too, and it will give you the GPS cords too, but there is no way to download a run from it to the PC, although I can bookmark on it places I visit and go back to them, I want the option to print out maps to where I have gone off road.
