GCEC is out of business

Looks like Great Canadian Expedition Company (GCEC), the place where I bought my Hannibal tent, is out of business.

Web site is gone and I can't get a phone call or E-mail returned. Tried Hannibal in Africa and they don't seem to want to respond either.

As I need some replacement poles, this SUCKS the BIG ONE.:(

Any suggestions?

They announced it about 2 months ago and took their site down within the last 2 weeks. They were the Canadian Hannibal rep and they took down the hannibal.ca site too.

Atlantic British is the USA rep (www.roverparts.com. However, I am not sure if Nathan at www.Pangaea-Expeditions.com still brings in Hannibal too.

Fix your link, you left a ) in it.

Oh, and Nathan should have his site checked. I can't get anything except the "specials" when I click on "gear".

I think Nathan is pretty much done with gear. The specials consists of what he has left over. Too bad, since I have had multiple requests for a supplier for the Kelly Kettle . . .

Darn, that is a bummer, I accidentally got the whole gear list one time from a google search and loved what he offered. Then I couldn't find it again. Only those three things. Oh well. Didn't mean my prev post to sound so snotty. Thanks for the heads up.

Looks like I was too optimistic on Hannibal in SA to act promptly. It's been 2 months and no replacement poles.

This is the last I heard from Jacques on the 4th of April:
"Hi Igor, let me have your delivery address and I'll get a set sent off
to you.

Just sent an e-mail to Atlantic British to see if they handle warranty stuff in Canada.

Yes, I'm a little pissed off at unfulfilled promises.

Sorry for your trouble with the Hannibal after sale service. A product is only as good as it's distributor.

I inquired about importing with the Kelty Kettle people in Ireland and never got a satisfactory response. I let it drop, but would be willing to pick up the line if there is some demand for it.
