German 98 Blazer build

I really like your Blazer man! My Mom and Dad have a 2000 Blazer like that as well as the ZR2 Off-Road 2dr version. Both have provided excellent service to the family.

On a side note, most off-roaders carry a short strap or ratchet strap to tie the axle to the frame before Hi-Lifting so you don't have to pick it up so high when changing tires. If you use something like that (or even a short chain with hooks) to tie the axle up before jacking the suspension on that side will not droop (extend) and save alot of back breaking work. It's also a fair bit safer because we all know how stable Hi-Lifts are when they get past the 2nd set of holes up from the base. :sombrero:

I don`t have a single pic...

Now I have to look what`s wrong with my speedo.

This car was right the whole time and now it gives me problems all the time... :ar15:

Made my own lift mate today. Started this morning with those parts:

A little grinder action:

All welded up. I couldn`t get any nice welds today, not sure why...

Test:

After this test i realized that i forgot the bolt that holds the second strap, so it actually hang on only one strap...

The paint is drying right now, more pics when it`s finished...

Nice work Stein, but you might want to put some kind of protection on the top of the jack so that if it becomes unstable you do not punch a hole through the side glass. Can i recommend some thick density foam?

Thanks. I thought about that too, but i think i`ll just remove the top part. I already dented my rear fender with that thing...

Today i added a sticker of our german board:

Then I started with a tree removal in our backyard. This tree had to go:

Cut down:

Then i hooked it on my winch and started pulling:

Wow Stein, you mean the old apple tree would not grow any more apples! I am surprized that you did not use dynamite!:ar15::peepwall::bigbossHL::yikes:

You think you`re joking, but there actually is a guy in my street who used to blow his old trees up with some explosives... :Wow1:

But times changed, now he`d get arrested for the rest of his live. Not that it ever was legal, but nobody cared about...

Applewood Smoked Bacon

Have a smoker? Get some pork bellies and make some great bacon with that old tree!

Okay Stein, for this we need pics. I can just imagine you with a beer in hand turning a whole roast pork over an apple tree fired barbeque!:chowtime::campfire::1888fbbd:

I think this will take a while until it`s warmer and the wood is dried...

Today`s project:

I`ll add a cigarette lighter plug to the pump, so I can put it in whatever tank and have water easy available. The washer tank is for testing only. I have only about 8$ in this, and I really like it. Maybe I`ll add a heater to it later...

Then I made this special tool to help remove the visco fan:

Well, I just can`t get this thing removed. Will have another try later... :coffee:
