Why not a new factory short block?

Didn't see a reason to. I think it was partially wanting to get it done fast and back running since we were making money mapping in the truck. We actually went out in the Prius to work and borrowed other folks trucks for a couple weeks, but we had the truck back in a few weeks which was nice. Plus, I saw no issues with them working with the original engine. Why go to a new short block?

Short block any dealership no issue ~$4500. No long block available to my knowledge.

Question, does the knock-off snorkel interfere with the factory antenna? From the photos, it looks like you no longer use the antenna.

Never used the factory antenna. We'd plugged the hole for the OEM antenna long before we did the snorkel. From what I remember no matter what snorkel you use guys were using heat guns etc to make a little dent to still use their antennas so I think it must just barely go over the hole.
