I got the Hero2 for Christmas from the wifey. She thought of this all by herself.

Anywho, I went with the 32G Extreme card rated for 8 hours at 960/30 and 720/30. And about a zillion pictures.
The limiting factor is battery life and I didn't see the point in the bacpac battery. Went on a wild Google search and found some great aftermarket batteries.
You can pick up a pair of larger capacity batteries + AC/DC charger for under $30 from Amazon. Everything is top notch, and you can even recharge your original
battery with this charger.

Now, be on the lookout in April for the GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac and Wi-Fi Remote. This unit will be slick for those that mount their cameras way out of reach, or line of site to the screen. Other goodies will become of this upgrade.

I saw that same charger and batteries yesterday on Amazon when I placed my order.
I was not looking to do that though, as when you remove your batteries, you loose all of your custom settings and time.

I read up on the Wi-Fi Backpac last week, looks pretty cool.

Not sure where you got that? I have my time/date set accurately and setup for One Button operation to record 720/30.
I just pulled the battery out, put in a different battery and took my time doing so. Everything is still setup as I set it before pulling the battery.
You may want to go back and play with yours a bit more.

Also note, that when you run any of the GoPro BacPac units whether it be the Wi-Fi, Battery, or LCD....you only get to use one at a time.
I decided to hold off on getting the LCD BacPac until I see how this WiFi BacPac works and see some real time reviews from users.
If it works as I have read up on, I can use my Smartphone as the LCD screen, as well as a controller for it using a GoPro app.

I was going by what someone else said about losing the settings if you pull the battery.

Yeah, I only run one Backpac, the LED screen.
Had it on my GoPro HD1, and now the 2.
I like having it, makes it so much easier to shoot vids or pics when you can actually see what you are shooting at.

Not really sure if I will try the Wi-Fi one, I do not see a big need for my needs for it now.

In my experience, a single battery is good for about 2.5hrs of filming and one 16GB card. Adding the battery back allows you to worry less about running out of juice- which I've done several times and not realized it. While the camera beeps when the battery is low or the card almost full, you can't always hear it with a helmet on while riding; using the wtaerproof case makes it even harder to hear. For most of my recent riding in Laos I used the waterproof case as it was so dusty I didn't want to foul the camera.

I would love to be able to rig up an external battery as well as use the remote control. There's a lot of times you don't feel like filming (boring road section) but it'd be nice to be able to hit a button on the handlebars and start filming again. Having to stop and look at the camera in the mirror is a PITA.

I plan to use my GoPro mostly for capturing my ocean fishing adventures in my sit on top kayak. The HD aspect along with the waterproof case and wide angle view really excels here.
Odds are good that I won't be capturing more than an hour or so of footage during any one outing, as the camera is mounted well within reach and is turned on as needed. I usually don't fish more than 4 hours on the salt, and having the camera off most of the time will net me plenty of battery time on the water. Now with the waterproof remote and WiFi BacPac, this action should make it even easier. With 3 batteries, of which two are larger capacity(1400mah) than the factory(1100mah) as well as running the Sandisk Extreme 32 Gig card, I'm sure I have my bases covered for several days of fishing before needing to move data to my laptop or recharge batteries. These cameras are really bringing out the creativity in many folks outdoor adventures. Lots of great videos on Youtube to wet your whistle with.

I've been using mine while snowboarding lately...lot of fun to have. I have the mounts for the handle bars too so it's going on the Harley really soon :bike_rider:

I think this is a great tool. I just need some better hardware to edit all this video I've made. But it's really easy to use and even easier to switch up settings on the fly.

I've left my GoPro on for 5 hours while recording about 2 hours of footage and it was above 50% battery
