GPS/GIS App for Window's 8.1???

Just got a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 for work. Apps tend to be light on the Window's platform and I'm looking for a good map app for trails.

Hmmmm, Never tried that. I know I can download Sat imagery and topo maps to use offline.

I thought the surface pro can run normal PC programs so wouldn't they work?

What do you mean by "normal programs"? Are there GPS data logging programs for Windows?

If I had a solid in vehicle Windows device, I'd probably be lookng really hard at this:

And search around, there are a ton of Windows based GPS programs, many for free, at varying levels of complexity and usability.
