Aaron,
Can you hike to the phantom ranch in a day? I was confused on that and not sure if it was more than a day hike to get there. I was looking at the ranch from the rim with my binox and it looks like a great setup. Must have been something to build it down there!

Nice pics and write up Brian!

Glad to see the wee one made the trip. Laughing re the dirty diaper stops. It's funny the things that we must allow extra time for now isn't it? You've got a great looking family, but where's Oliver?

Love the Hula Chick on the dash. Is that the latest mod? :D

That baby backpack is awesome!
It's a Kelty Adventure, the model with all the bells and whistles.
If you don't need all the attachments you can take them off to save weight too. It even has an adjustable spine so Amy and I can just hand it off to one another and fit it to each of us just by pulling a pin and sliding the spine of the internal frame.

Best of all is that Charlie loves it. She giggles and wiggles the whole time, and then she falls asleep!

Thanks!
Oliver stayed home, he would have had to stay in the GCNP Kennel since dogs are not allowed in the lodges.

Hula Chick is the lates, greatest and probably one of the best mods! She enjoyed the road trip so much that her grass skirt fell off!

Brian, you can make it to Phantom Ranch in a day, but start early. It is actually best to stay at the ranch for 2 nights, so you can have a full day to enjoy the beauty of the area down there, it is just awesome. I have not hiked to the bottom of the canyon in about 10 years now, I was in much better shape then, I am not sure I could make the trip back up now.

that is also impressive that the hula girl got so excited about the Grand Canyon that she lost her skirt:hehe:
