Head banger

Hi everybody and new to the forum--just bought a pop up truck camper which will be on my 2007 Ford F150 4x4 Lariat (with soon to have Firestone air bag suspension on it). My question is simple, has anybody come up with a great idea to pad the door top edge to avoid a hard head hit on entry (don't ask me why I am asking this).

Welcome to the forum! I'm 6'2" and have hit my head on the door frame too many times to count. I would also like to know a solution.

Try a length of 1/2-inch-or-so-inner-diameter pipe insulation, trim to fit. Cheap, easy, effective in most applications.

Won't anything designed to protect the head upon entry also hinder the closing of the door. Don't know how many times I've done this. One day I'll knock myself out.

And it really sucks when you are bald! I start to look like Russians Gorbachev. I have to come up with something.

I suppose you could hang something just outside the door like they have at parking garages to indicate a car is too tall. It would need to be attached to the inside of the door so when the door is opened, it sticks out over the stairs.
