Heading to Copper Canyon, Mexico

Howdy folks,
First umm ride report here. Wife and I are heading to Copper Canyon area in Mexico starting Mar 7th. Leaving from way up north in a little town called Sioux Lookout. Driving a 05 Jeep Rubicon with a small 4" lift. I have been to CC a few times by myself but always on a motorcycle (bmw gs1150, honda xr650r, bmw gsa1200). This time I thought it would be cool to bring the wife, and I am not sure if she or I could handle 2 up on the bike going down into the canyons, thus the Jeep. Will try and keep up with some pics and "stuff" on the journey. Plan on going to Creel, Batopilas, Urique (the back way) and then maybe Choix and maybe Los Mochis. I think the woman who rules is gonna be terrified but she doesn't know it yet. Really really looking forward to this. Anybody else in the area at this time, shout out mang, love to hear from you or even meet up.

Just got back from Creel last week! Hope you have a great trip. I hope to return in the next year and get to visit Batopilas and Urique too. Post pics when you get back. Good luck! :sombrero:

drop efuentes a line when down there. goes without saying to be extra careful these days as there is a major drug cartel war going on in the central/northern part of the country and although no innocent bystanders have been casualties thus far- you never know. PM me if you would like more insight (even if you've been there 3x already). Im in SE MI and i see you're coming from ON....

Edmundo (efuentes) knows the area well and has a great blog on the canyons. Did a trip with him a few years back and had a blast. Hope to do another one in the future to cover he other 4 routes though the canyons. Just waiting for the gang activity to slow down so things can get back to normal. Mundo keeps his eye on what is happening, so he can give you local insight. He lives near the coast, so is very nearby.

I will be curious if you hit snow at Creel. A stop and nights camp at Basaseachi Falls is a great spot. There is a nice camp spot right at the falls.
