Homemade Roofracks.

Thanks everyone. It was a fun one to build. I'm just now in the process of designing a roof rack for my new-to-me 1994 4-door S-10 Blazer. This one will have a few tricks to it as well. It might be just a little bit before I get started on it, but when I do I'll be sure to add pictures here in this thread.

Not exactly home made as I run a fab shop but here is a rack I made for a members Rover.

Here is a roof rack that I built for a local earlier this year. His objectives were to keep it low profile, make it look like it belongs, retain use of the moon roof, provide mounting for lights. I think I hit all of his goals. The lower side tubes were rolled to match the profile of the roof as close as possible.

Awesome looking rack! What size tubing is that?

Well here is my rack. I'll have the basket probably late next week or the week after.

Cargo Rack

This is a cargo rack that I made out of 1/2 and 3/4" thin wall conduit. (EMT) Just get yourself a conduit bender and have at it. Plus a welder. I use gas welding which I like more than electric.

cut sides down so its shorter, also cut off top from bar. still noisy. tread plate made it more noisy

I have a "squarebody" 1984 suburban. Id like a roof rack. If any of you guys are in west Texas or SE NM and are interested in making one for me, I'd like a PM. Or if someone knows were one is in this area, PM me. I don't have the time or skills to do it myself.
