good. now let's move on to these hood blackouts. small stickers are one thing.

I will move on when I'm 100% capable of doing so, I am a fanatic about my work, everything that has my name on it has to be perfect.

You might not realize it, but it's actually quite a large investment. Vinyl in that width and quality is not cheap. Nor is the 48" cutter required to produce the blackouts professionally.

Have you ever heard of starting small and working your way up?

This is exactly what I'm doing with small stickers, raising capital.

Matt -

It appears that you have initiative and drive beyond your youthful age! More power to you on this project and your continued success in school and future business endeavors!

As the years go by, you'll find that no matter the subject, EVERYBODY's an expert - so don't let minor obstacles or naysayers grind you down or dampen your spirit! Remember this old Latin adage - "Nil illegitimi carborundum" (Don't let the bastards get you down). Damn the torpedos - full speed ahead!!

Peace - Out!

Thanks for everyones compliments, and continued support. They certainly mean alot to me.

My biggest problem is getting people to take me seriously at my age, it is also my biggest frustration.

Hopefully it will be soon, I started a big promotion on d-web to try and raise some capital. Quite a few decals on there hopefully it will sell. I really see potential in the hood blackouts.

My little brother runs into the same issue in his drag racing. He does flat dirt drags and wow, this crowd spends some money on decals.

I grew up racing from age 5, it seems I've been in this issue all of my life, I was driving race cars when kids my age were on training wheels.

The racing world is actually where I got my start in decals, it's a great crowd, I actually started doing this on a smaller scale when I was about 10... so i have around 8 years of experience doing vinyl.

So I've been doing a lot of searching lately on many different sites about the hood blackout, and I saw a picture someone posted up with their 4Runner and a hood blackout...I think the truck was red. Does that ring a bell with anyone here? I can't find the pic and I'd like to get a look at it again.

I'd like a blackout with some subliminal black on black topo map designs. Kinda like what ARB did with their FJCruiser, but shiny black on matte black.

That is an awesome font! I'm glad Matt pulled through on it for you. Now I need to think about what I'm going to use that font for.

I'm not sure if Matt has the whole font. I sent him that phrase as like an image file type thing. It was done specifically as a Camel Trophy thing. Not an authentic replica, obviously, but to give that style to my truck. And frankly, I love the phrase. My dad see the truck as a waste of money. But then, he's been scrimping and saving his whole life, and was finally ready to retire, but now half his savings *poof* is gone. If he died tomorrow, he never got to live out his dream retirement.

Anyway, another option Matt, might be "Camel Trophy" plaque decals. Maybe even with optional country flags. Even fictional ones... like, Canada never really had a team, but I'd still love a plaque anyway. ;) It's all just for fun, and if any purists get their panties in a wad about my green truck with bronze CT stickers... I don't care.

And BTW, the bronze looks fantastic. The only trouble I had was there were a few "divots" that I had to pick out with an exacto knife after the decals were down. No big deal.

How about a Blackout that has Expedtion Portal, or Overland Journal, or the OJ Cardinal Points logo on it. Of course only if it can be licensed through Scott.

Or with Jeep, Toyota, or Land Rover emblems on them.

It's a good idea, perhaps I could do some one-off's for Scott; If I get the wheels moving, school is tough, and the economy is tough.

Just pull a myspace trick and lie about your age. Just kidding.
