When we did that crossing on the Moto’s. They had us empty out all the paniers, pockets of our gear, bags, etc. It was through for sure; they were friendly about it though. I think it was the meat and cheese, if I remember right?

I liked Pucon, it was so pretty! Have to watch the budget there though,
Honestly it was a VERY thorough search for us. I get the need for it. But it was like a body cavity search for DAUNTLESS the way they went through our rig at this crossing. We'd never had anything that invasive before on this journey. ~ E

This is the Carretera Austral, one of the world's most infamous roads. It is located in a remote section of Patagonia in southern Chile.

In this video we encounter our most challenging military / police checkpoint on our journey so far, the most amazing wild camp we've ever been to in over 12 years of full-time vehicle based travel, a failed electrical system where we had to do a trail fix in one of the most remote regions of the earth, and the longest single travel day we've ever had on our entire journey.

There is a lot in this video, and I'm here for the questions if you have any. This was an incredible part of our overlanding journey around the world. ~Eric

Conflict, Caves, and Uncertainty. This was one of the MOST CHALLENGING sections of our drive around the world so far, and also one of the most beautiful. We don't sugarcoat the journey and we don't hold anything back.

This is what real long-term overlanding looks like for us. Would love to hear your thoughts. If you have any questions, happy to answer them. ~ Eric

We drove 5 hours out of our way to try and get on a ferry that had been sold out for months. If we get on, we get an amazing cruise the fjords of Chilean Patagonia, if we don't, we have a 2000+ mile detour on land.

This is the story of what happened. Let me know if you have any questions! ~ Eric

Eric, since you are always so open for questions....now that you have many miles in Dauntless, would you do a Gladiator build again? Any regrets? Any other platform or camper you would consider or wish you went with? What would you recommend to someone like us who is literally about to pull the trigger on an almost identical build? Stay safe! Best wishes from Canada 🇨🇦 :)
