How do you cook in camp?

I have a great set up but I have yet to kit it out like I would like. It has tons of potential and does set up in very short order but I want it to be more thought out and purposeful like Sinuhe's kitchen. I really like the lines of it when it is folded up. Terri Ann is to be commended. She had a lot to do with the making of it.

I only bring the grill if I know there will be rain falling.. But if no rain, then everthing is done on the fire....Oh, I never leave home without my 2 burner dual fuel camp stove.......

you guys are hardcore.

I'm a bit on the lazy side. I don't even cook. I just hang out with those that do. :) and they cook very well.

I always cook like I would at home !

Theres something about being out in the bush and having a fantastic meal that just completes the trips ! I usual bring ingredients and then depending on the mood cook whatever I want to make !

By far the best meal I had was on a thanksgiving week hunt . I lost a day of hunting on the trip but everyone sure enjoyed the Turkey ,garlic mashed potatoes , stuffing , gravy, veggies with jalepano cheese sauce and of course the cranberries ! It was a lot of work over a 3 burner stove top to prepare but it was probably the best turkey dinner I ever had !

Dude, I love that truck. The rear box with all the custom stuff is sweet.

I think I have had the truck for almost 7 years now. It just keeps growing on me. Even around town I prefer to drive it over the Honda Pilot and the Disco. I have big plans for it but as always money is the only thing stopping me. For now it's just fine the way it is.

Any luck on selling yours?

Kev-

Your truck doesn't need a thing.

I dont plan on cleaning her up but a few more ponies under the hood would sure be nice. I have a engine in my garage that is just waiting to be rebuilt but aside from that it's fine. The Yaesu was a nice addition. Good peace of mind.

I know what you mean. A little luck, some pretty serious tire-kickers, but nothing panned out. Maybe it's just not meant to be.

I'm driving it to S. Utah next month and we plan to convert the rear box into a working darkroom. We're going to shoot some 8x10 glass plate negatives and make some ambrotypes in the field. This truck is perfect for that. Should be a fun 'experiment'.

I know exactly what you mean. Late last year I got an 08 Taco as a daily driver. It rides very nice and I'm saving a ton in gas. I'm 6'7" and a Prius or Yaris wouldn't do.

Anyway, on our DV trip I was reminded how much I enjoy driving my Cruiser. Everything about it was just right, from the seat position, truck height to the outside view. I really like driving my 80.

That is a great idea. Carry your darkroom with you wherever you go. Very cool.
