How do you wash your dishes

This shower bottle here was posted last year.
It could work for dishes too.

No, that is not a porno site, even though the name looks like it is :D

On a sidenote, I am going to try using my Zodi Hotman Extreme shower this season for rinsing off the dishes.
Might as well, as it works great for showering, it can pull double duty for kitchen cleanup too.

That is what we do. By having a second person turning off and on the water we can use about a half gallon to do dishes for two, but if you are not careful you will burn through a gallon or two without knowing it.

Was just scanning this thread again to get some links for an upcoming article I am working on, and I remembered your picture above of your camp kitchen.

That is cool how it has the backgammon and checkers top on it.

Some of you have elaborate set-ups. As we rarely stay in one spot more than a night we gave up washing dishes years ago and use disposable paper everything, plastic utensils and cups (for the booze, doncha' know). Most of it burns, some of it doesn't. In our RV we carry a couple non-stick pans which wipe out clean with a damp paper towel. In the van I only carry a non-stick egg pan. But for me, anyway, the travel is the reward, not long cooking sessions. However, if you're cooking and cleaning, I'll bring the wine or beer as needed. :D

I have the Zodi Hotman Extreme for showering with, and I have done the kitchen sprayer mod to it.

Never thought of using it to wash dishes with too, but it would be very simple to do so.

The Zodi Hot Tap Single Burner and Zodi Hot Tap HP Double Burner works even better. You don't need to heat up the water for 10 - 20 min before using. It includes an integrate propane burner that heats up water instantaneously as it passes through the coil and the water pressure is decent enough.
The only drawback is that it uses 4 "D" cell batteries as opposed to the Zodi Extreme which uses none.

Happy to report that the new setup I picked up for this season worked very well.
I like it much better than using a plastic wash tub and drying rack.
Also take up less room in the rig.

Hi Guys,

So I'm tired of washing dishes with TOO much water and have been looking at something like this:

d_7790.jpg

How do you wash your camp dishes using minimal water while being able to wash/rinse.

Naturally I'll air dry things or towel dry, but I just want to minimize my water use as I generally use TOO MUCH water washing dishes next to camp...and let's not even talk about the mess/mud.

We have this same unit
Wife loves it
Got a good work out in our Westy

Semi retired now that we have a SMB
HOWEVER...trying to teach the wife to save water, may go back to something like this

So far our trips have had plenty of water avail for shower and dishes

It for sure will be included for longer/bushwack trips

I use the sink and a pressure wash when doing the dishes. The hose also doubles as my showerhttp://www.justruns.com/gallery2/v/Run+Photos/083110/IMG_2840_001.JPG.html.

i bought this new unused Swedish wash basin which I have not used yet but look forward to doing so. It is very heavy duty, folds up nicely. I want to make a lid/ top that goes over sink for when I am not using sink i can use as cutting board/ counter space

Was out camping in the Adventure Scooby this weekend. While washing dishes I remembered this thread and snapped a pic. The 6 gal water tank sits on a milk crate. I use the crate to strap to my roof rack to carry 1lb lp bottles and anything else I don't want in the car with us. Smelly socks, recycling etc. It has a top that fits in recessed that I made. That top sits on an ammo can that I use for tools. On top of that is a 10l sea to summit sink. The dish drain came from a RV store. We used to use it in our pop up. The bottom becomes the top and you can store stuff inside it. In a small car I have to be light weight and try to use things for more than one purpose.

Database error? I'll try the pic again later...
