I know there is a switch in some '03 models as my manual shows how to turn off and on the passanger side air-bag but non in the DC. Is there a proper way to do this?

There isn't a key shaped hole in the dash that says something about the airbag? To the right of the radio somewhere?

Usually those only turn off the passenger side system. I suspect to turn off the whole system that you'll need to pull the fuse. I'd highly suggest finding someone who works with air bags to consult before doing anything. Most air bag system re-sets done in independent body shops are done by an outside contractor. I'd look for someone who does that work in your area.

not on DC

The back seat is where Toyota wanted teh kids in 4 doors, so we do not get the on/off key spot.

Last summer my buddy and his two kid, myself and my two kids are headed over the pass to Lake City from Silverton, before we get to the pass he gets a flat, so we change it and keep on trucking. We make it over the passs and are still 20 miles from Lake City. Bingo, he loses tire # 2. We load all the kids him and I in my tacoma. It is tight, my oldest daughter is in the front middle unbelted. I drive like grandma, paranoid floyd to Lake City, not high risk but this is just one example of it would be nice to turn off the passanger bag, throw my buddy in the back, (sorry Jon) belt my daughter and head down the road.

We did 3400 mls. that trip and 12 year old daughter #1 and 10 year old daughter #2 had their times when I wish I could have put one in the front and one in the back seat. Daughter #1 is on the borderline of being big enough to be in the front sear anyway.
