Howdy from Nevada and ... I just got a Power Wagon.

Howdy, folks. I've been lurking for a week or two after finding this site. Thought I'd introduce myself. My friends call me J. I live on the edge of the Great Basin, in Northern Nevada. Spend a fair amount of my time out there.

Posted in this discussion area because I just bought a 2007 Dodge Power Wagon. Flew to the midwest over the weekend to close the deal and am having the truck shipped here. Should arrive within two weeks.

My existing truck is a 2000 Dodge Dakota. I've put over 180,000 miles on it and enjoyed every minute. Probably 20,000 of those miles were off pavement. Mostly in the high desert and the Sierra, but a bit in Colorado, Oregon, and British Columbia.

That's all for now. Looking forward to getting to know ya'll.

cheers,

got any pics of the dakota?

I've attached a picture of the Dakota on the trail to Genoa Peak, above Lake Tahoe. Truck is not far from stock. Add-ons are the Snugtop shell, a Bedrug, fire extinguisher, on-board air, front tow hooks, and a CB radio. I think I'll miss the full-time 4wd. It's awesome in the snow.

Welcome J.C.

I learn something new every day. Didn't know the Dakota had full time 4wd. Very handy on the hwy in the rain and snow.

I am totally jealous. If i had the money, the Power Wagon would be my steed.

Dude- due to gas mileage woes, usd Power Wagons are going for CHEAP!! Even the new ones the dealer is taking a hit on. A used 05 is around 20K$
