Sorry just got back on the computer after being out in the desert. Actually gained 1-2 mpg and 10mph up the Cajon pass here in SOCAL. It was amazing. Oh yeah and it was hard to keep my freeway speed down.. she wanted to run up to 70-75 without trying. It was nice for change. The off camber obstacles were fun not having to worry about the COG.
I did this years ago because if i ever took the rack off, i can just screw the antenna into the roof. When the rack is on, i use a jumper coax to the rack mount.
You buy the roof mount version when you buy the antenna... http://kollmanradio.com/product_info.php?products_id=8036
It's the roof hard mount kit. Not magnetic. The wilson base actually screws into my roof. You can buy the kit from and CB shop. The fun part is running the coax through your headliner to your radioadventureduo, any info on the antenna mount installation in the middle of the roof? If i get a ham license that looks like a great place to mount the antenna.
