Thanks for posting Larry...ya, thanks a lot! :Wow1: You're killin' me. Must fight the urge to visit my local Chevy dealer. :sombrero:

I hear that! The temptation is almost too much to bear. Me want!

Just think, a fresh 2014 Silvy would correct that temperature gremlin you've been chasing with the MDR.

It looks so nice, I would be afraid to use it though. I can think of so many other things to blow $60K on...that is like 25 years worth of fuel for the Taco. LOL! tax alone is near $5K, tack on another two years or so worth of fuel.

heck, a buddy of mine just picked up a 3/4 ton cat-eye cheby crew at auction for $6K... ;)

Is that a full 6.5 ft bed??
Nice

Yep, for 2014 GM and Dodge finally joined Ford with offering a 6.4/6.5” beds on their ½ ton crew cabs. IMHO the longer bed looks so much better than the stubby beds. Also looks better than the GM HD trucks with 10" of frame hanging down in plane sight! I hate that about my 2001 Silvy HD

That is a for damn sure! Somebody would really want one to pay $60K for the truck in the Ebay action. No reason why a new truck couldn’t be purchased then add a lift/tires and still be $15K under what this one is advertised for.

geez...for $15K you could build a suspension that actually works a heck of a lot better than that bracket lift SkyJacker.

I am guessing my assumptions are right, the suspension is the same as the previous gen if lifts are already available, yes?

Not sure on that one. During the launch of the 2014’s Jeff Luke of GM claimed there were only a handful of carry over parts from the half-ton 2013 GMT900 to the 2014 half-ton. This Skyjacker truck was an R&D rig where the Ebay add says it is a “Custom lift”. I suspect the 2014 is close to the 2013 suspension but probably needed a few tweaks to make it work. On the other hand, when the 2015 HD trucks are launched they will be riding on the same rolling chassis that was launched in 2011.

Oh….I just noticed the other day when I was in a 2014 that they have tilt and telescopic steering columns. I didn’t recall any mention of that in any of the press release packets. Thought that was interesting.

I hate to say it but, the $60k price is not as out of line as it may seem. I just priced a loaded out LTZ Z71 (which the Skyjacker rig appears to be) on Chevy's website, and came up with a $51,135 price tag!!! :Wow1:

I'm not saying I would pay $60k for it but, just pointing out it's not as crazy as it may seem!

For my money, if I was in the market for one, I'd buy a 1500 crew cab standard bed base model with just a few well thought out options (since they come about loaded anyway, lowest trim GM lets you select for a crew cab is LT) for $42,710, put a lift kit on it and some 17" rims with 35" tires. I'd have just as good looking of a truck that works just as well and be about $12k cheaper. It's amazing how much a bunch of options ($9k worth!) and a 20" rim (like the Skyjacker truck) selection adds to the price of a truck!

Larry- Thanks for the info! I do like that they added a telescopic steering column! A lot of the new vehicles nowadays could use that, IMO. In a lot of new vehicles, I find that once I sit in the vehicle and get my legs comfortable, I have to uncomfortably stretch my arms to reach the steering wheel! That's definitely a nice addition!

Ahh thanks, thought they just tossed on new body & engine on the old chassis.

with all of the fluff add-ons...not too out line, of course trucks are getting a little too luxo, remember when people bought trucks to well....use them as trucks...?

any pricing on the WT models. noticed nothing on the website yet.

Actually pricing on the new 2014’s has been on Chevrolet’s website under “Build Your Own” for several weeks now but only for crew cab models with the 5’8” bed and 6’6” beds.

Looks like a WT1 base model 4wd Crew Cab short bed has a MSRP of $36,345 which excludes destination freight charge, tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment. Meanwhile, the Silverado's less attractive twin carries a base price of $36,360 for a GMC equivalent of the Chevy WT1 peg group. With wheeling and dealing and potential incentives one these base models 4wd crew cabs could probably snuck out the door for well under $30,000. Who pays MSRP anyway?? Hopefully nobody! :)

Base WT1 but with optional 6'5" bed. Couldn't find a linkable picture of a WT1 short bed crew.

I just love the way the 2014 grill and body resemble 70’s and 80’s trucks. To me, the 2014 Silverado particularly looks like the 1983/1984 grill.

So much better than this ugly truckling…. The 07-13 Silverados had to be the ugliest GM truck ever built. The body stamping quality and assembly process wasn’t any better than its looks either. The diehard Ford guys had to suffer through the smashed jelly bean appearance F150 era (1997 - 2003) while the Chevy guys had to deal with this thing.... glad 2014 is here! :). We got my wife a '13 Tahoe Z71 this past October and I am tempted to off it on a '14 High Country crew cab tomorrow! Don't think she will like that idea much though..... Can't wait to see the 2015 Tahoes and Subs in person. Unfortunately, the 2015 Chevrolet SUVs don't look as good as the trucks IMHO.

And here I thought I was the only one noticing the resemblance. Seeing some hints from other generations too.

I dunno, I liked the 07-13 styling, like the how the dash looks over the '14's. I tend to like simple...the new ones look a bit over-done. At least in the WT it is all black
which helps mask some of the hideousness.

Look at this one. A Victory Red crew cab with a 5’8” bed and Fabtech lift. I think I still like the looks of the 6’6” bed better.

Decent looking truck but the wheels look a bit

We got 2 2014's in stock right now. Just sold a Z71 LTZ 1 day off the transport. Of the 2 we have left we have a well equipped Z71 LTZ and another Z71 LT. Both are Much nicer inside than the old GMT900's ever were. For 4wd's my only beef is they sit low. That 2.5" leveling kit will be a must. Other than that I'm pretty stoked with the new trucks.
