I'm back in a Jeep, a JKU

Do you have a manual?
I had a Superchips for my 3.8L autotrans and it helped the 4.56s quite a bit.
But I don't see what it could do for the 3.6L manual, 3.73s, and small 33s...

Bill, what were the benefits of thevSuperchip for the 3.8 auto? That's what we have and while it suits our needs, I wouldn't be put off by a bit more power on hills.

We also have a 2013 Rubicon auto trans in the current fleet (5 Rubicons from 07-13), and I don't see why people are looking for MORE power. As it comes out of the box I think the new motor/trans combo can out drive the chassis fairly easily. I will assume its a towing thing? Our '11 towed a 3000 lb trailer up Tioga pass once, but it was NOT happy about it...

Jeep has 4 full sets of springs for the JK; these are the stiffest.
I bought an offset adapter for the lunette ring on the trailer --- if it doesn't line up next time out, I might go with the Synergy 1" spring kit.

The 255/80-17 tires fit perfectly on the stock JK wheels. No rub anywhere doing anything.
It's not a Rubicon, so there's no swaybar disco though.

I'm really thinking of getting the lifetime warranty on this Jeep and driving it 'til the wheels fall off. I'm not all that interested (right now) in building a Troll Hunter vehicle.
I'm enjoying the good ride and great fuel economy...

Bill, I went with the 1" Synergy springs on my JKUR and I love them. The rear springs really handle wait MUCH better than stock. I haven't even replaced shocks yet and know when I do it will be great... Thinking about some Fox, OME, or Rancho XL9000's Not sure yet which ones. I did do brake line relocation brackets but other than that additional cost no changes other than springs. When disconnected on the trail I have had NO rubbing issues what so ever. Just for clarification I am also running the 255.80.17 ST Maxx's. GREAT TIRE!!!! Wear awesome. Ride Awesome. Do VERY well in the dirt, rock, trail, and mud I have seen here in Va.

The chip changed the shiftpoints, fuel/air mixuture, accounted for gears, accounted for tire size. Gave you the choice of octane rating so I guess it messed with timing advance and other exotic things. Had a towing option, fast idle, etc. Made it a different 3.8L indeed.
Still couldn't tow my trailer though.

I'm coming from a Power Wagon back to a JK. It had the 5.7 Hemi (395 hp and 410 ft lb torque) and 4.56 gearing. The 3.6L is MUCH better than the 3.8L and the 6 speed manual is MUCH better than the old autotrans. But the 3.73s are the weak link. I think that 4.10s would be perfect for me but you could only get them on a Rubi.
Not sure if I'll regear. Not sure how that would affect the warranty ---- I'm contemplating the lifetime b-2-b...

Thanks for the feedback; I'm probably headed to Synergy. Andy has them on his Rubi and they did the trick for him too.
I'll put on whatever shocks I can get a deal on. I can usually get Billsteins pretty cheap.
I've also been looking at the AEV 2.5" more and more....

I have an automatic, but I have to think you would get similar results. Like the tuner for the 3.8, you can change shift points, octane tunes, tow feature. You can also set the fogs to stay on with high beams and other odds and ends. I can tell a significant difference in driveability even on trips up to Blue Ridge, loaded with the family, gear, and towing my dirtbike. The 3.6 is an overall better motor, so you're starting out ahead of the 3.8
