Importing tyres into the UK

The tyre (or tire if you like) situation is getting pretty bad here in the UK

Costs are going through the roof and worse still, because of new legislation on tyres and tyre noise, it's getting very difficult to get certain types and makes of tyre.

I'm looking at importing a set of 6; but as usual many US outlets simply don't want to deal with anyone outside of the US. Can anyone help me find an outlet that will deal outside the US? I have access to a US based bank account so paying is no issue...

The size I'm after is an easy size - 255/85x16; believe it or not we only have two manufacturers available in that size! BFG and Cooper and only in KM2 and ST...

I'm particularly fond of Maxxis Buckshot mudders.

To be honest there is a big market of that size tyre over here so it might be worth a look at for any of you budding business men

Do you know if some one could send them to some one there and just leave companies out of it? I use to work at and still am very good friends with a Buckshot dealer hear they are what I use on my Explorer, Yes not a land rover but one day I'll have one lol. Just wasn't sure if someone could just UPS or Fedex you some.

If 255/85 KM2 is ok for you,
call tirerack,
ask for Jake Puterbaugh and tell him Michele (in Italy) suggested you to do so.

I'll find out and let you know have you seen the buckshot xmt? thats the one I'm using right now.

No luck not a popular size around here. He said he would call and see if they are avalible to him in this region from the supplier. Did see some on ebay item # 300377483742 but not sure if he would ship to you.

Michele, long time no see! How's the cartoon business going and that 'oh so sweet' 90? Thank you for that contact. I'm no lover of the KM2 to be honest but beggars can't be choosers...

Josh, I hadn't heard about the XMT - if it's a Buckshot but better then it must be good. What 16" sizes does he have? Alternatively a narrow 15" and about 33" tall?

KM2 has to be a good tire.
255/85 is very very skinny...

I tried it at the UK launch, didn't like it. I tried it for a couple of mags, didn't like it. But it's a BFG so it will last and do the job. I like my tyres skinny and my women wide :Wow1:
